I had to play kill all the flies for about 2 hours. Those flys where everywhere didn’t feel comfortable sleeping/eating in the room because it was bad

For the price there isn’t much to complain about, but there are simple things that can be done to make this a decent place to stay. My friend and I refused to use the shower cause it was nasty, didn’t even look like it got cleaned. We found rodent poop in the bathroom plus many other things.

Located right off the interstate, so easy to get to. Staff was friendly. Rooms were spacious.

There were over 20 flies in the room when we arrived, and we spent lots of time trying to kill them all. There was almost nothing for breakfast.

It is right off the highway, and near a small town with lots of character.

The rooms were stuffy and hot when we arrived. The bathrooms were in need of repairs. Several outlets did not work

We appreciated the outdoor corridors since we were intending to leave early. The kids liked the waffles for breakfast. The shower water was actually hot.

breakfast was poor. Hot tub was out of order, should have been told when we checked in. but put on swimwear and went down to find out it was out of order.

The bathroom was disgustingly dirty. I didn’t let my kids bathe because the shower was so gross. There were dead flies and cobwebs. My daughter covered the flies with a towel because they grossed her out. When they came in to make the beds the next day they put the towel on the bathtub and left the flies.

We did not realize that there were no restaurants close to the property and would have stopped before getting off the interstate and checking into the hotel. There was a minimart along with the gas station, so we were able to grab something there and heat it up in the microwave in our room, so it all worked out.

We booked the hotel room and requested a ground floor room with a King size bed, they responded promptly and let us know that they reserved that room. It was close to the interstate, we got fuel, and then stayed for the night.

We had a reservation and arrived after 4 PM, but our room had not been cleaned from the previous night. We had to wait outside for over 30 minutes while they cleaned the room, and the AC was not on - the room temp was over 85 degrees F when we finally got in. And that may be the best part of the whole stay. No ice, thin/small towels (and not enough of them), room was not really clean....I just can't list all the stuff that made this stay the worst experience of a 2 week+ vacation trip.

The only positive I can think of is that the motel is handy to the Interstate and has a gas station/convenience store on site. Rumor has it that it was once a nice, handy place with the motel, station, and RV park all at one site. Now it is rundown and poorly maintained. There are broken down appliances stacked next to a shutdown car wash, trash bags stacked in the stairwell, etc. All that is missing is a homeless encampment. The one positive of Paxton is Ole's Big Game Steakhouse and Lounge. The atmosphere and food are both awesome. It has nothing to do with the Day's Inn.

we arrived at hotel room and it looked okay for the price, but when we thought we could settle down and get ready for the night, we tried to take a shower and found cob webs and spiders from spiders in shower and in vents. the ice machine was broken so we could not get ice. putting that all aside cuz we were tired we got ready for bed and pulled the sheet down on one of the beds. there was a big smelly stain of pee, then my husband had a tick land on his body. that is when we decided to leave packing up and leaving. when I told someone at desk he acted like it was no big deal. he said he would refund our payment that is all we wanted was a refund or not be charged. but next day we had the transaction go through charging us for full amount of room.

There were bugs in both of our rooms all over, the beds felt like they were 20 years old not a comfortable stay unfortunately.
