Our upgrade meant that we did not get separate spaces for the kids and the parents it was a fold out couch in the same large space with no privacy. The images on the site were from the previous hotel or extremely staged because the charm was missing and the pool side vibe was very different. We didn't get to use the pool at all because it was missing the heated element which was a big disappointment to our kids. The one night we tried to enjoy the fire pit there was no gas 5 minutes in and there was an issue with the refill can. Breakfast was definitely Continental Style and had no options for allergies so this amenity was unavailable to us. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning in our room. We travelled in March so it wasn't hot but it was stuffy and not comfortable for sleep. They brought is 2 floor units but that made a very small dent in the temperature of the very large room.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic. Very helpful with any questions or accommodations during our stay. They did their absolute best at all times and all roles. The location was perfect for us as we were mostly there to sightsee with our 2 kids under 10. The room was spacious and we got an "upgrade" to a suite with a microwave and kitchenette. The price seemed very accessible and the property is well kept and very secure. I liked the parking option, though we did not have a car this trip.

The only thing that bothered me was the sort of musty odor that was in the room. I'm not sure if musty is the right word but it's that smell that sometimes comes with a travel sort of motel. Perhaps when they upgrade the room with new carpeting this will go away. My wife who has a much keener sense of smell than I do was not bothered by it all. Of course by the third day I no longer actively noticed it. ,,, but I would certainly return.

I have stayed at Hotel Del Sol a number of times. It had been some years since my last visit to San Francisco but I was looking forward to my stay. It's a great friendly nicely located travel motel in a fun section of town. I have stayed at the top end hotels in downtown San Francisco but my preference remains the Hotel Del Sol. Walk a couple of blacks to the marina, fun shopping, great restaurants.

i had to pay $25 for parking but there was no guarantee which was unfortunate because for the both nights we returned to the hotel, the parking lot was already full.

Even though the hotel seemed to be quite empty at the time of our stay, on our second night there were other guests placed in the room directly above us and were stomping and being overall noisy since early morning.

The hotel has great summer colourful vibe, with the swimming pool in the courtyard it doesn't even feel like your are in the middle of the city. The reception staff were very nice and friendly and the location simply fantastic. There is no breakfast room but you can either take the amazing pastries into your room or enjoy them on the outside patio / terrace. Everything was clean and well kept, we really liked our stay here.

there was a smell from the carpet. and we were not checked in on time. but in the morning we saw breakfast, although we didn’t have time to eat! A bit expensive in terms of price/quality ratio.

Parking was unavailable due to ongoing renovations, we had to spend additional money for parking.

The location was great for the places we wanted to visit. An excellent breakfast was provided.

Not being informed of ongoing construction. Website said it was to be finished in June23. I would not have booked knowing pool and safe parking was unavailable. Info needed to be updated.
