Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesNeeded to change the number of nights I was staying. needed them to ok it and until I made a scene I wasn’t going to get that ok or even have a call made to manger to help me take care of it. After scene was made he contacted manger and they ok the change which I then I had to call booking.com to update which was fine but their phone wouldn’t work so booking.com could call so it took longer than it should have as well. Room once got in was not updated at all guessing because smoking room. it had what looked like mold on ceiling in bathroom. Fans on wall in bathroom never cleaned covered in dust balls. It was a room but it wasn’t up to any normal person’s standards at all for the price.
That it had smoking rooms. The lobby was very nice and clean looking as well

United StatesNo hot water for showering or washing hands. There is no ice machine. Digital TV gets very poor reception. It is choppy and only has a few channels. No breakfast included (or at all) even though it is advertised on Booking.com Pool was drained "for the season" but looks like it hasn't been used in years.

United StatesThere were muddy paw prints on the shower mat (we did not have a dog with us). The walls are fairly thin--our neighbor had the TV on all night and we could faintly hear it throughout. The bathroom fan didn't work.
