Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI hated the carpet. it looked unclean. and I was so worried that the rooms were gonna be the same. but house keeping does an amazing job. a balcony room isn’t a room with outside access. the negative review on the staff was towards the gentleman that accused my children of rainbow colors of moving something at the pool and we had just walked in. and it was a group of young ladies that had been there before us. and he didn’t in general ask if it was moved. he assumed my rainbow kids did it. he apologized. but I still didn’t like the fact that the black, Hispanic and native kids were asked first. (my son had a birthday gathering)
it was so gorgeous, sitting areas were huge. restaurant and Starbucks at your convenience. I loved that you needed to use your room key for the elevator.

United StatesThe room was fantastic! Make sure that you don't go to the other double tree that is down the street, we made that mistake! I really liked the breakfast and the bar that is located in the lobby! Paying for services in these two places was a little confusing though. Overall a great place to stay!

United Statesthe shower only had a choice of scalding hot and cool water, no in between. the bed pillows are down feather pillows, which, not only feel like laying on a bag of sand, I am also allergic and they were not included in the room description so I was not expecting that. a lot of people are allergic to down so not a great choice. also, a room refrigerator would be nice.
