Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BulgariaLobby of the entrance was very poorly managed. There were so many people there who were not staying at the hotel, but were rather having a party gathering of some sort. It was super loud and there was no staff meeting guests. Also, there is no free coffee and there isn’t a proper breakfast restaurant onsite.

United StatesSee above. I misread. I loved the location and the staff was fabulous. Rooftop bar was amazing. Everything was clean.
It was oddly designed. The ladder in the bathroom was not functional as it would fall when you pulled a towel off. The faucet was further out that the water for washing hair in sink. Weird hole in the door instead of doorknob. Only one outlet next to bed and it didn’t work. There were so many buttons we turned on the do not disturb not the light inside.Looked designed for appearance and not functionality.

United StatesThe beds were stiff, the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. There was no room in the fridge for our food/drinks we brought because it was taken up with stuff from the bar. Only one very small waste basket in the room. The room rates seemed high based on value.
The location was excellent. The lobby/ hotel lounge and bar area were very aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom and shower in our room was super nice.

The location is great, the room are "NYC" size but well designed and comfortable. Our room had a nice view over the city.

MalaysiaI pre-paid for the 3-nights as per my booking. However I was not informed that they will charge USD150 per night (total 3-nights @ USD450). The charged my VISA debit card USD450 and when I checked out they said they amount will be refunded, credited to my card within 3- 6 days. I has been over a week now and I have not received my refund. I emailed all the emails that i have including booking.com but to date I have not received a reply and the status of the refund. Please assist me with this matter as it is a serious breach of customer's payments.

United StatesA friend spotted and killed a roach in the room. The rooms are small and EXTREMELY basic; no frills. We had to request an ice bucket (and ice for it). We asked for champagne flutes and were given regular drinking glasses.
The location is extremely convenient, right in the Meatpacking district. There arr restaurants next door and a cafe inside the lobby. There’s also a club on the rooftop.
