Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Aside from getting married I’m very pregnant and our room (room 621) had to be switched due too little to no AC, and when we switched to room 622 it had a leak in the roof. I had my wedding photographer come to the room and my hair and makeup artist and I was so embarrassed, bad ac and a ugly leak print. I would’ve rather stayed home than to pay 300$ and stay in a horrible hotel I was very stressed. The only good thing was the customer service from the front desk. The hallways had no AC was humid and smelled like a wet sock. I would’ve rather stayed home I couldn’t relax at all.

United StatesLet me preface my concerns by stating that I had no issues with the accommodations per say, the Element is a very nice hotel. My concern is with customer service (or lack thereof) during this stay. Prior to our stay, I reached out to staff to advise them that I would be arriving early (returning from a cruise) and asked about checking in if possible. I was advised that this could not be arranged ahead of time, but would do their best to accommodate my request. At the very least, store our luggage until our room was ready. We arrived approximately 9:30 to 10am and was advised that there wasn't a room available, but we could store our luggage for the time being. We were welcome to have breakfast or if we left, we would be "emailed" when the room was available. We decided to leave, find breakfast and explore Doral. We returned around 12:30-1pm and there was still no rooms available. After sitting in the lobby for roughly two hours we finally checked-in, it was 3pm (the guaranteed check-in time). We also found out we weren't the only couple who arrived early that morning and they were waiting as well. My issue is not just with the wait, but what appeared to be the lack of concern that we were waiting! No one approached myself or my wife to provide an update, no one went out of their way to make sure we understood what was going on. No one went out of their way to make sure our "first" experience with Element was a great one. I've stayed at plenty of resorts/hotels where we've had to wait to check-in and staff went out their way to make the wait as comfortable as possible. That's not the treatment we received or experienced during this stay.
The hotel's location was in a great area (appeared to be in a area where plenty of restaurants, etc. were not that far away). Great décor and nice facilities overall.
