Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLifts were slow at times but understandable during busy periods.
The location was perfect to Times Square and a good central walking location to many of the iconic must visits and subways in NY . The staff were always super helpful, and efficient with check in/ out and bag storage. The bed was very comfortable.

United StatesThe food on the breakfast buffet was often cold. The room is very crowded and it was difficult to find seating. People were often taking their food back to their rooms to eat. We missed having drawers or shelves for our clothes.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was outstanding. The made to order eggs were very good as was the happy hour menu.

United StatesA bit tight on the complimentary water. Other hotels provide guests with at least a bottle of water for each person per night. However, the elevator took a long time.....
Breakfast room was ok, it does need a little attention on the cleaning side. The room was fine, except the bathroom is a bit tight. Some extra towel rack would be nice.

United StatesThe rooms were very small for an Embassy Suites. I paid for a “junior suite” and it barely fit me, my husband and 2 year old son. It also felt basic. Nothing stood out about the room other than the space being small.
The location was central and getting in and out of the hotel was pretty easy.

GermanyIf I had to point something out it would be the tv that was not standing straight on the wall, it was hanging with one side lower and when we moved the sofa it was heavily dusty, it took us a long time to clean that. That wasn’t cleaned for a looooong time. Other then that cleanliness was very good
I like the staff, very helpful at all times and very friendly. The location was pretty good, centered and we could easily reach various attractions and stores.

AustraliaRoom was quite small, as per all the reviews we had read, but for a hotel in the middle of NYC, I wouldn't expect anything too much bigger. It might be more of a struggle for more than 2 adults and a child, like our party.
Central location was great, easy walking distance to pretty much all things of interest. Good gym. ,great staff. The room was clean, and housekeeping were on top of it every day. Waking up to the Empire State every day was cool.

United StatesThe sofa bed would not open the third night. Used it night one, did not use night 2 b/c we had a 3rd room Friday night and last night it jammed. We were too late and too tired to wait for help. The breakfast is very nice offering, not enough space to sit comfortably if you try to eat the last hour of service. Also, the staff could not keep up with cleaning and providing clean cups and utensils. Most importantly— the resort fee is too much $30 per day, if breakfast is included and you go out to site see and have dinner out. Not enough time to use the $30 at the bar.
The staff was very friendly and professional, the location was perfect for our groups needs.

United StatesCheaper rate but it was no more than everything else at this location at this time.
We thought this hotel was great. Room fit our family perfectly and w the junior suite divider it felt like it was two rooms, kids had their own tv! Free breakfast was great and contrary to many reviews online, there was plenty of room. Service at breakfast was excellent and young man who checked us in and out was excellent. We will definitely consider this hotel when we return to the Big Apple !! Location can’t be beat.

United StatesThe big Jamaican lady on the fourth floor cafeteria who seems to run the floor is needlessly rude and inattentive. I ordered burgers that were packed and ready but sat there for 10 minutes getting cold because she didn't want to get to it. Later that night, I stopped by the cafeteria again to look for a plastic fork, and she rolled her eyes at me and told me to just take one of the metal ones and then closed the door.
Solid amenities (microwaves, refrigerators, large TV and couch, etc;) and location; a "bang-for-your-buck" kind of hotel.

ItalyBreakfast room is too full at any time during the day. You can get up in the morning to rush to find a free table... The situation was quite unacceptable and I wasn't able to order an omelette due to long queue. Evening refreshment has a really poor choice of food or snacks... Also there, long queue at bar is really annoying The get a better experience, at the level of a 4 star, common spaces for breakfast and evening reception must be enlarged Room sold for three people, but it's too small. There's no space to put luggage or to move freely
Really cool view from my room over the empire state building Really warm and gentle staff at check-in, checkout or to help you for taxi booking Breakfast is ok, but still not excellent Evening refreshment is ok to get some drinks Clean room and large bathroom

United StatesThe hotel charges $30 credit per room per night. You can use it in the lobby bar which offers drinks and snacks. I did not want to spend time in hotel obviously so I paid $90 for nothing. If I knew they are charging for this, I wouldn’t booked this hotel.
The breakfast and location are amazing. Most of the touristy areas are in walking distance. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Breakfast area can be busy sometimes.

United StatesThe elevators took forever. We were waiting so long multiple times. That's the only one issue I experienced.
I was very very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The room was excellent in every way; very clean, the bed was really comfortable. I also loved the breakfast that was included; there was a wide selection and food was delicious. I also enjoyed the bonus of 2 welcome drinks and snacks the evening I arrived. Although I didn't use the 30% offer for their restaurant, I appreciated that it was offered. All the staff were very courteous and provided great service. The hotel is very conveniently located, and close to many attractions. For a last minute booking and that too for the evening, I think I got great value for the money. I will definitely be returning.
