1st day someone knocked off side mirror on mercedes. When checking out Sunday, the man at counter was so strung out on drugs, he couldn't talk or keep awake. It took forever to get damage deposit back.

The room wasn't clean enough...the cover bed was dirty( I ask for a new one at front desk) and also the room smell bad...like humid

it‘s not worth the money. the only clean parts of the room are the bed sheets and the towel. very trashy overall. they don‘t let you keep your room key for the time staying.

It smelled like piss and smoke. It needed to be cleaned. The window was propped open with a liquor bottle, someone else's trash was still in the mini fridge and waste bin. Incense stick in the toilet... it was gross.

It was a fine size for a single.

If you are expecting an American-style, budget hotel, this may not be for you. It’s got the feel of a laid-back hostel, replete with interesting characters, but might be a bit too run-down for many people, even considering the price. I love the location. 10 minute walk to everything your looking for in New Orleans. Convenient for parking your car. I probably would have spent the same amount I did on the room trying to park in the French quarter.

the whole place is tearing apart. I am really shocked that it is in operation. bathroom were just poor hygiene and you can see that there has to be mold behind the walls

The place is literally in shambles. Floors are sagging and cracked, the toilet and sink wouldnt drain, the window unit ac was covered in muck and didn’t blow cold, there was a crack all the way around the unit and you could see straight outside.

The toilet didn’t flush well. It drained slowly over hours. No plunger. The sink backed up when brushing my teeth and also didn’t drain. The bed sagged. You could here everything. Ladies of the night were screaming to get paid.

Believe the 1-star rating. If you are expecting a 5-star (or even a 3-star) experience, this is not the place for you. If you can overlook all of the shortcomings and, like another review stated, are adventurous, then The Empress Hotel is somewhat of a decent stay. It was a room to stay in with a hot shower and a toilet.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The shower was great with very hot water and good water pressure. The hotel is just outside of the French Quarter; it is a nice walk to get into the French Quarter. There's an awesome little coffee stop three blocks away.

The rooms need to be up grated, the mattresses was full of old urine stains that was covered with plastic and a mattress cover. The wall had a large crack in it and there were water stains in the ceiling.

I did not have any breakfast, the location was wonderfully.

Being charged for a person that was already on the reservation, toilet wiggles, and the office wants you to leave your room key at the house every time you leave to go sightseeing or eat.
