How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

People at the front desk were very nice. It was just a one night stay for me and there was everything I needed there and I had a comfortable stay.

Floors look clean but we always end up with black feet! This seems to be a problem everywhere we stay here. We wish the rooms had a closet and refrigerator though..
Queen suite was accommodating as usual.

Our tv wasn’t working properly throughout our stay, we had a fire stick though so that saved the day. The staff tried their best to fix the problem

Floors are filthy.. ! But everything else is pretty on point. Have never seen any bugs so that’s a plus ! This is a good hotel And the price is great
The queen suite is only a few dollars more than a regular room and is totally worth it

Homeless & drug dealing all around hotel. No water bottles anywhere. No food to buy or eat. Elevator was out of operation. Only one front desk person who was usually hiding in the back and not present.
Mattress was comfortable.

it is near towards districts and restaurants! i have stayed here before and I never had a problem. I do not understand why people would dock points because of the homeless people. The homeless people are not scary and aggressive as long as you are not harming or being rude to them. Just leave the homeless people alone and they would do the same to you.

The location is horrendous. There were druggies everywhere which made the hotel feel exceptionally unsafe, even in the foyer. At one point a man wearing a knife around his neck walked into the foyer, and another blocked the exit with a shopping trolley. There were people high on drugs (literally hundreds of them) up the back alley, even leaning against the glass out the front of the building, There was human faeces all over the sidewalk. Would not go back.
Nice enough property, friendly staff.

Zona!!!!! It’s horrible and not safe!!!!! Too much scary to get out from car. We didn’t stay. Hotel took money with out return. Hotel maybe is good but zona horrible with many homeless and people taking every corner Drugs. And it’s 100 people all like zombies not just one!!! Not walking normal people out side. It’s very scary somebody can make to you something. Please watch YouTube about with zone yo not make mistake like we do.

The neighborhood, but we knew about it, so it didn't bother us.
The hotel is very good for the price. We were very satisfied because all the hotels in SF are extremely expensive. We live in the bay area of San Francisco so we knew the neighborhood and were aware that it's a neighborhood with a lot of homeless people. So we went into the hotel aware of this negative point. But it didn't bother us during our stay. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, very well decorated, small but very suitable for us!

The location for single females is extremely unsafe. I do take accountability for not doing more research regarding the location of the hotel. I also take into consideration that the hotel does not have control over who is outside their hotel but I would have enjoyed a little more safety precautions or reassurance upon arrival. The staff was unprofessional at the front desk and did not have any customer service skills at all. I was not even greeted upon entering and no explanation of the hotel was provided. The room was okay but the window did face another window that was not the hotel which made me, a single female, uncomfortable.

Housekeeping opened my door without knocking twice. The room had a rat that ran across the room serval times. It disgusted me.

The front of house staff were not helpful, and did not seem interested- which was a first time experience for me visiting the states.
