Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location. But besides that is ok. There is always a person at the night in the lobby checking the entrance. That’s nice.
Nice San Francisco vibes hotel, rooms are super nice and very bigs I will say.

United StatesIt is close to a drug zombie culture that you will run into if walking the area. People ding drugs on the street. Very 80’s. For safety Uber or Lyft everywhere and you will be fine.
It was very nice our room. I like it had a window for natural air. It was centrally located

CanadaThe location is in Tenderloin, not at all safe, huge issues with unhoused sleeping in the side street. I made a note to Uber not to drive me down this side lane as people were living in the street. I arrived back at the hotel one night and the door was locked and the lobby was unattended. I was locked out on the street and thankfully the Uber driver waited with me while we banged on the door until a member of staff returned to let me into the hotel. Can be a scary location. Shame because the hotel and staff are pretty good.
The room was modern and clean.

United StatesVery noisy, as the walls are pretty thin. Unfortunately, a good share of guests on my floor were quite loud (in multiple ways ><), doors do get slammed and sounds of ambulances were not uncommon.
The room was very clean and very nicely decorated. It was located close to bus stops and restaurants. TV was functional and there was a huge mirror, perfect to check your outfit before heading out.

AustraliaThe first room we were put in made a noise from the aircon system every 30 minutes that lasted 2 minutes. It was so loud we needed to move rooms. The second room windows were so light we could hear everything on the street all night from homeless fighting to cars doing burnouts. The floor was dirty, as was the bathroom counter. The blinds were dirty and there was no tv remote. Every time we attempted to speak with a staff member they were on FaceTime with people and we felt like an inconvenience. They remained on the call every time.
Good value for money, comfortable rooms and good location for tourists.

Amazing staff. Really good people but in a challenging neighborhood. I felt a bit uncomfortable in the neighborhood with the homeless crisis, but the staff was excellent at helping me understand how to navigate the situation

The outside pictures on the website are misleading. The door to the entrance was hard to find and parking was not onsite but 4 blocks away. There are a lot of homeless people around.

United StatesThe location was overrun by houseless people. The ability to walk or even leave the premises was so overwhelming that we felt the need for pepper spray to stay safe. At night they yell at each other so much it seems like they are right outside your window. It was a bad sleeping situation because it was one yelling fit after another. Additionally the place did not even have provided parking for this already bad area. There was a cheap overnight option across the street but it still ran the risk of my car being broken into.
The room, perfectly comfortable and certainly cozy.

United KingdomThe location. It sits right at the edge of the tenderloin, an area known to be the epicenter of the addiction/homeless crisis so it can get quite dodgy especially in the evenings.
The staff were lovely, the rooms were small but comfortable and the hotel felt safe and cozy.

United KingdomVery noisy outside throughout the night, the windows did not block out much sound. Would not stay here with children as there are lots of homeless people and drug users congregated in the streets around the hotel. We didn’t experience any trouble but we’re a little shocked at the blatant drug use we saw, and how impoverished some people were, as well as the litter and mess on the streets.
Very comfortable bed and nicely decorated. It is easy to get a bus from there to other parts of the city. Convenience shops and lots of restaurants near by.

United StatesStaff at the front desk are extremely unfriendly. We have stayed here 4 times in the past 4 months and every front desk person we have encountered has been in a bad mood. There is no loading/unloading zone in front of the hotel, and the side streets near the hotel are very sketchy. We are unable to park and unload our luggage, so we have to haul everything from the parking garage, which is over a mile away. Lastly, and the reason we will never return, the hotel canceled our most recent reservation without a reason, and when I called to inquire about it, they refused to provide an explanation. So even though it's a decent hotel at a reasonable price, we won't be going back, which is too bad because it had become our go-to spot for our monthly stays in San Francisco.
The hotel has a modern feel and seems to be pretty clean.

New Zealandwe were placed in a room on the 2nd floor facing the street which kept us awake all night due to street noises, cop cars, people yelling etc ideally the rooms should have heavy drapes to help with sound seepage and customers should be warned of nose pollution at night. I recommend people request to not be placed in these rooms if you want a good nights sleep
