Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA kettle/coffee machine in the room would've been good. Room didn't have a window but this didn't really bother us.
Loved this place - free coffee, climbing, rentals whilst you're staying which we didn't realise. Staff super helpful. Lovely big room and bathroom. Great pizza place a block away.

United StatesThe rooms are too small and have no windows. And if you are tall you will hit your head on the sloped ceiling.

United StatesVery little. Dorm room stay last time had gaping disconnect with the hotel staff - not managed onsite, so hotel staff have little connection to the dorm. That said, the dorm mattresses are comfortable (if you can deal with bunk beds), and rooms well equipped with good, stylish amenities. ***This time, stayed in regular hotel room, which was excellent and resolved all issues above that I had with the dorm.
Facilities are fantastic: industrial boutique esthetic, sauna, gym, cool/social common space and bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Laid back and extremely accommodating.

United StatesThere is not a lot of parking, and it is a more industrial area. Also, sound carries in the rooms, but they did provide earplugs for this.
Evo hotel was an amazing experience, and the ammenities are top-notch. Having the climbing gym and a fully equipped gym and yoga studio was a huge bonus. The staff was super helpful, good coffee at the coffee bar downstairs, and plenty of spaces to work, read, etc. Even though the rooms didn't have refrigerators, the staff gladly provided me with a cooler for my items. I'd stay here anytime I come through SLC!

United StatesThe whole area is under construction so it can be very loud. There is also a lot of homelessness nearby, so walking around a night is a little sketchy.
The best amenities for anyone who wants to climb or workout while traveling. They are also very dog friendly!

United StatesThe location isn't the best.. the surrounding areas are a bit sketchy at night, and not much to walk to for dinner, etc. The Slackwater pizza across the street though is quite good!
Really cool vibe here! Very unique hotel experience. The rooms wrap around the fitness room and MASSIVE bouldering gym! Really fun to just sit at the balcony and watch people climb.

United StatesThe location appeared to be a little bit "sketchy", which concerned me at first. But the front desk staff assured me that it was a safe place.
Immediately I was greeted by the very kind front desk staff. I've never been to Salt Lake before and she gave me her personal opinion on where to eat for dinner. And also provided me with a sheet of places to eat any meals and where to grab drinks. Dinner recommendation was a pizza joint around the corner, which was wonderful, and a walking distance. The hotel itself is super well kept and very fun to explore and look at. The staff in the rock climbing room was also incredibly nice. I unfortunately didn't have the time to participate in any of those activities, but if I ever come back, I'll make sure to make my trip longer so that I can. The walk to the room was enjoyable, there was corn hole in the hallway and fun things to look at. And each room down the hall has its own private little staircase that was super cute. The room was like a cozy little cabin. The bathroom is very modern and the shampoo/conditioner and soaps smell absolutely delightful. I typically bring and use my own, but I gave theirs a try because of how wonderful they smelt. Didn't dry out my skin or hair at all. The bed and pillows are single handedly the most comfortable hotel bed and pillows I've ever had the pleasure to rest on. There was no TV, but the cabin vibe made me want to unplug from the world anyway, so I appreciated it. The only thing I didn't love about the room, was the slant in the roof because I am tall and almost kept hitting my head. And a window to outside would have been cool as well. They provided war plugs and a few options of books to read which I thought was awesome. Overall a 10/10 stay, I have told everyone I know about this hotel.

United StatesUnclear why there had to be steps by rooms making it difficult to maneuver with luggage. Also unclear why the roof had to be short and slanted in room making it hard to stand up straight.

United StatesWe were delighted to overnight at the evo hotel while passing through SLC. Most notably, the hotel is in a big warehouse, complete with bouldering gym and laid back, friendly vibe. There’s breakfast on site and a brew pub around the corner. Super comfortable and well stocked room as well.
