No portable electric heaters provided, luckily brought one from home. Also HATE the wicker chair in the livingroom, not comfortable at all. One suggestion for cottage#2... mow the grass and weeds by the big tree near the fence, place a bench there and it would have AMAZING view of the sun setting on the river!

The pots and pans could be updated a little bit I understand why they are not. If they were to nice people would probably take them. Could use a few more electric outlets.

Such a great place. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Cute cabin and the owners are very nice. They just took over in April of 2023 and have already done a lot of updates. Can't wait to see what they continue to do. We would definitely stay there again. I would describe it between camping and glamping. A little rustic but very comfortable and cozy.

It was too rustic for an 81 yr old man. The outside steps were not level. There was no hand rail on our steps to hold while climbing or descending the stairs.

It was close to the water and had beautiful sunsets.

Enjoyed the peace and quietness. The sky was extremely dark allowing a star gazing spectacular. We only stayed one evening. The bed was comfortable and the cabin clean.

The photos were a bit deceptive. The motel is on top of a steep hill, so there is no view of the river. Next time we would rent a cabin which is closer to the water.

The carpet didn’t feel great on bare feet, so just wear socks or bring your own slippers. Toilet was also running a lot but I happen to know how to fix that and did. Overall I felt the room was very expensive for one person — yet acknowledging that all that was available was a room with two beds.

I like the room had a bathtub. Helpful staff that brought hangers and drain stopper promptly, and pushed my two beds together. Coffee machine a plus and strong AC. Quiet grounds.

New owner are a delight! I already liked this place a lot, and the new owners are putting their all into bringing this little gem back to its original glory. The location is gorgeous.

About the only thing I can think of was that the alarm clocks alarm did not work. The owner did not have a replacement, but he assued us that he would knock on our door at checkout time if need be. No sweat.

We have been back to West Wind the past three years, It is a very clean, older motel style that we do not mind at all. The pool is great for cooling off after a hot day. I also enjoy going down to the dock, and watch the fantastic sunsets, staring at the stars, watching the ocean and laker ships go by. This has a camp experience, cooking on grills provided, picnic table, campfire at night, quiet, removed from crowds and nightlife. Go into town, shop until it gets warm in the afternoon, drive back to our little haven jump in the pool (many times all to ourselves), enjoy the river culture. We will return....again!

very nice location along Ontario Lake. New Owners are welcoming and accomodating. Once all renovation will be completed, it will be a must. I would go back.

Just a little more money than i was wanting to spend for 1 night.

The staff was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, on the main drag but not in the city.
