Bed was a bit hard, but not too bad.

We loved the atmosphere of the home, our host was wonderful to visit with and had a wonderful meal prepared for us! We love the history of the home and even had a little paranormal experience to boot! Our furry hosts made the trip memorable as well 😊

Was unclear on bed-and-breakfast protocol and advance discussion of menu. Not a frequent traveler of this type of accommodation, so maybe a description in booking listing or an auto send email or text on clarity of social norms (breakfast included or not, appropriateness of communication of dietary restrictions, promptness of breakfast time, etc.). Made to feel a little awkward for not knowing that i was supposed to communicate in advance. For a host that is a clear animal lover, the assumption all guests eat animal flesh too was a bit of a disconnect!

I loved the music playing in the foyer- added to the antique ambience. Enjoyed the intimate company and conversation at breakfast. Chocolates on the bed and water were a pleasant surprise and treat. Loved the animal-friendly policy and inclusiveness to fury family guests.

Bed was not very comfortable. The lighting in the facility was too dark, especially at the stairwell.

Eclectic, convenient location, easy accessibility to historic corridor and reasonably priced. The innkeeper very knowledgeable about community and home’s history. Wonderful guests to share travel stories with.

There are alot of cats. I love cats but i was still surprised. They all were very friendly however. Im not sure if they provide that info in the listing but they need to for people with allergies.

The property was historical and the room was very clean and nice. The share bathroom was also very clean. Chris was an excellent host and provided me with some road food as i was leaving super early the next morning. .

Sleep interrupted by temperature changes in the room. Too hot, then too cold. Is an old house, and not much can be done about that. Harassment from a friendly cat interrupted sleep. The house is charming and the proprietor tries very hard and is mostly successful as a host. The cat is a charmer, too.

    Great! Homecooked and original.

Be forewarned: take the check in time seriously. I was coming in from out of town and realized that I was not going to get there in time for the "2-4 pm" check in window. The Booking.com site said to just call to make other arrangements. So I called and left a message letting them know that I wouldn't be in until 6 pm. Next thing I knew, I got a text confirming that my reservation had been cancelled. I called again and got things straightened out but the owner wasn't exactly happy about it. Apparently he had to leave his restaurant and walk up the block to let me in. Who knew?

This is a great property that is extremely close to the Twain museum and Clemons home. It's comfortable, clean and charming. Why stay at a hotel when a great B&B is available? The owner is also the chef at the restaurant a couple of doors down and it is also exceptional! It was surprising and very welcome to find such great international cuisine in Hannibal. The breakfast the next morning was great and served with a helping of funny and informing stories about Hannibal. We talked so long I got a late start on my pilgrimage to Twain's boyhood home!
