Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesMy room was directly above a table of people sitting around talking loudly until well after midnight. The blinds were broken and bent so people passing by could see right into the room. Had to cover it all with a sheet for privacy. SHOWER HAD NO HOT WATER and WATER PRESSURE WAS A TRICKLE. I had to pay downstairs to use the truckers showers.
Convenient location.

When we decided that we could not stay due to the condition of the room the manager refunded our payment. In addition when I informed her that I had forgotten my shirt in the room she gladly went to the room and retrieved it for me.

United StatesThere were no hangers in the closet and only one chair (lacking "gliders" to slide smoothly). There was no face plate on the plug recepticle and the toilet paper roll was stuck on the half of the holder that remained. The trucks at the surrounding truck stop were noisy as were people shouting (and smoking) outside the rooms.
Nice choice of colors in decorating. Comfortable bed.

United StatesAwful, box spring and mattress on floor. Smelled OLD and gross. Towels rough like sandpaper. Checking in was a nightmare, not a motel. Truck stop and Shell gas station. Felt unsafe and did not stay. Did not want to become a Dateline news story. Found out from locals it is "a trucker brothel". Explains a lot. Did not speak to anyone after 30 min check-in, I just left after viewing and smelling room. Knew I wouldn't sleep a wink.

United StatesWhere to start? My original room was taken over by a homeless person, so the staff had to change my room. My new room was still dirty and derelict. The carpet looked like it had never been steam cleaned and I didn't trust the bed so I slept on top of the comforter and used my jacket as a pillow. At least the bathroom was kind of clean. I was never given a wifi password, and the Roku wasn't even connected to any network, so that didn't work. The furniture was all beat up and there was a hole in the wall where the doorknob broke through. There was a mini fridge and a microwave, but I didn't end up using them. I didn't feel safe there. I was asked by a stranger if I saw anyone leaving a room, and I said no and went on my way. Later in the night after I had gone to bed the someone in an adjacent room got into a fight with someone in her room and they kept yelling at each other and throwing stuff around until much later in the night. Earlier that evening someone even tried to get into my room with a key card, which led me to believe that the staff DIDN'T KNOW WHICH ROOMS WERE TAKEN OR NOT. This was despite the fact that they had a computer to track reservations. I made sure to barricade my door with some furniture at night just in case the deadbolt somehow failed. There are also rats running around in the bushes near the walkways on the lower floor, but but being that I was raised near a major city, I was used to seeing such things. The sun never sets on the rat empire. I've stayed in 2-star motels, camped in cabins, and even slept in my car at a rest stop. All of those options were cleaner and safer than this place. I should have stayed at the Hampton Inn that was right down the street. You get what you pay for, but I still feel ripped off. The only solace I'm taking from this is that writing about my experience here will probably save someone's life! DO NOT STAY HERE!
The bathroom was (somewhat) clean. The location was relatively close to where I needed to travel. Mini Fridge was clean and the microwave was also clean, but I didn't end up using either. There is literally nothing else worth mentioning that's "good". This was probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. At least the staff was apologetic. I know they're probably trying.

United StatesThe floor was not washed, it looked just swept, stains on the floor from previous guest room, as I entry there was a glass pipe?? Like a crack pipe? The TV did not work. The check in took forever as they were training a new employee. When the staff member came up, took the glass pipe and simply tossed it in the trash, no reaction to it or apologies, he tried to fix the tv and did what I had already tried to make it work, he said "sorry Mam tv not working" and he left. There was a permanent noise like a generator going on ALL NIGHT, maybe having an Inn on top of the gas station is not the best idea, but it is my fault for not checking details about this place. Also the area was NOT safe at all, homeless people and carts filled with their stuff, I traveled alone and I felt scared until I fell asleep for exhaustion from working an 11 hours shift. NEVER AGAIN will I go back to this place.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean, thanks be to God. Either than that, I don't think there was anything to like about this place.

United StatesThere's no designated parking. I found the rooms were hard to get to for a first-time guest. The sheets had cigarette burns and a few stray hairs. I wasn't able to get any channels working on the television but I was able to hook up my laptop. The water pressure quality for hot water is poor but usable for a warm shower. No ice machine.
I had no issues checking in at the Garlic Farm. The rooms are spacious and plentiful. There's a sandwich shop in the gas station and a fast-food restaurant nearby
