How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No complaints. This place was wonderful.
The location is great! Right in the middle of Gatlinburg. It is charming and very retro looking, but not run down. You can tell the owners are trying to preserve this historic hotel.

There wasn’t a fridge in the room but it was ok we iced our drinks down in ice bucket 😊
Rooms were cozy and clean like going back in time the whole facility was warm and inviting.

The only drawback that we encountered was it did not have a refrigerator. We did not care about a microwave. My husband has medicine that needs to be kept cold. We purchased a cooler and solved that problem. It would have been perfect if there had been a mini fridge for a couple of drinks and to put his medicine in.
The staff is awesome and accommodating. Very helpful and some of the nicest people you will meet. We love Bunny! The breakfast was awesome too. The smell of breakfast would come into our room and it felt like home. It was very comforting. Best location ever! It is in the middle of town.

Need to improve their pillows. Most people I seen, brought their own pillows so I assume they had stayed before
It is so relaxing and like you were staying in an old lodge. Right in the middle of downtown but when you step inside it is peaceful and quiet.

Bed comfort and pillows/linens could be improved for this price point of hotel.
Perfect location, very walkable and near all attractions. Breakfast was very very good, service at front desk and at breakfast was exceptional. Bathroom was nice and updated but rooms are very small and dated, bed comfort and pillows could be improved for this price point of hotel. Great history here overall and location!

They didn’t have a fridge or microwave in the room like most places. Also I went to make coffe in my room and the coffee maker didn’t work. But they had complimentary coffee in a couple different locations. It just would have been nice not to have to go get it
I’m a history buff so I was taken in by its history and looks. The room was very clean and I was impressed with the upgraded bathroom. The central location was perfect…we didn’t need to pay for parking somewhere else because everything is within walking distance. We will be staying there from now on

I wish the outdoor heated pool would be open year round at least for adults. I kinda would like to see refrigerators in the rooms, but it certainly isn't a deal breaker. Ice machines are easy to get to and they work.
Breakfast was good and hot. Love the fact they have fresh coffee out really early as I am a very early riser. Beds are very comfortable. Location of this hotel is THE BEST. And the history of this place and being able to walk the halls and see the history of the hotel and area in photos is my favorite thing, besides the location of course. You will not be disappointed!

One lady told our friend It wasn’t safe to come cause of weather but we got there and you all had zero snow and ice. Kinda odd. It made my friend not what to come. But, we still had a blast
