Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesYou received a $7.00 vocher to use at the coffee/cafe shop next door. The choices and the food was good there. Also ate at the restaurant in the hotel which was excellent. The staff was very helpful in helping us with the tours. Very near the Andrew Johnson birthplace which was excellent. Would highly recommend the hotel.

United StatesHole's in bedsheets and curtain. Bartender was rude first night as we checked in. My husband wanted to get us a beverage to carry to room and he would not serve him due to not having a dress shirt on. I had just paid for a week stay spending $1181.00 and was not happy about not being able to purchase drink for room. First night of stay found food on floor of room. Bathrooms in room were not cleaned properly my whole stay had to have them come back and do them.
The staff at front desk was pleasant.

United KingdomRoom not great, quite small and dated. Like a British 3 star in need of renovation which was disappointing given the cost. Connecting door to next room meant I could hear everything going on there. View over roof was uninspiring.
The lobby looks amazing. Restaurant is good with a real Old Southern vibe, and bar has a good atmosphere and great bartender which is just as well because it's the only bar in town. Staff in hotel, restaurant and bar were lovely, parking good, room was clean. Breakfast voucher to spend in attached coffeeshop, good breakfast bagel.

United StatesThere was a wedding booked at the hotel. Unable to eat at Brumbley’s which is a must do. Had to eat Taco Bell :(. I booked our room over two months in advance. it would have been nice to know that they had this wedding planned and the reception was two doors away from our room. Not to mention the AC didn’t ever cool the room. Room temp stayed at 74. It was a rough stay.
I love this hotel.

United StatesThe room had one chair. The floors squeaked like crazy so you heard every move the people above us made. The beds must have been 50 years old. They were extremely uncomfortable. The windows are sealed shut so there is no way to get any fresh air.
Breakfast was fine because it was at a small cafe attached to the hotel. The hotel provided $7 vouchers that could be used. The little cafe had a good selection of breakfast food. BUT they aren’t open on Sunday and there is virtually nothing else near the hotel.

United StatesThis was the last stop on a daylong trip across East Tennessee to Christmas shop in small towns to support the local economy. The hotel has a highly rated restaurant and bar and we originally planned to cap the night off with a nice meal and a few drinks. When we arrived around dinner time we were told the restaurant and bar were closed due to a special event (wedding). No room service or other accommodations. We had no notification of this and there is literally nowhere else walkable to get a decent meal downtown Greeneville. Ended up having to go to the grocery to pick up a bottle of wine and order Uber Eats to deliver Thai takeout. A bad ending to an otherwise good day.
The property is a nice, nostalgic hotel. The facilities are worth the visit.

United StatesI am extremely disappointed and totally dissatisfied with my stay at the General Morgan Inn in Greeneville,TN. We arrived on Wednesday evening as scheduled and much to my surprise was told that there would be an extra charge of $50.00 for incidentals. I asked what that was all about and the lady at the front desk was not clear as to what it was for. I asked about the hotel restaurant and was told first of all that there was no room and secondly that it would be closed on Thursday and Friday. This was never told to us either at the time of the reservation or any time thereafter. To add insult to injury, housekeeping has not shown up in our room for either Thursday or Friday. When I initially called on Thursday afternoon inquiring as to why the room had not been attended to,I was told that it was because it was Thanksgiving and that it would be taken care of on Friday. Here we are at almost 5:00PM on Friday and still no one has shown up. I once again called the housekeeping extension and this time was told not only that it was because of Covit but if I wanted the room attended to, I had to request it. Of all the hotels I have stayed at in my lifetime around the world, that is the most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard. To say that I am disappointed with this trip is an understatement and demand restitution for undelivered services commonly received with a hotel of this nature and at the price they have charged. Thank you
Breakfast came in a bag along with vouchers to a local coffee shop. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

United StatesEven with Covid, they didn't attempt to clean the room more than once during our stay. The staff was very unfriendly and did little to resolve any concerns. There was a wedding reception with a live band. The noise level was horrible and they were loud until way after 12:30am. Several people complained yet staff just rolled their eyes and shrugged. The surrounding area is dead, no shops or restaurants.
The hotel is beautiful and the beds were comfortable.
