My husband thought the breakfast was delicious, but unfortunately I'm a diabetic and would have appreciated a little protein for breakfast.

My husband and I spent only one night, and was ever so charmed with this hotel and its well preserved interiors. The strikingly bold and beautiful decor surely lived up to our expectations of Newport (famous for its glamour and grand mansions.) Our bedroom, with plush pillows in jewel tones and gilded furniture exuded luxuriousness. The buffet breakfast, consisting of various small plates and teas, was well presented. The courtyard was pretty and we enjoyed our delicious breakfast al fresco, surrounded by lovely flora. Just wished we didn't have to leave.

The location was perfect! You can easily walk to most destinations - wharf, shopping, mansions, restaurants, beach. Gilded was lovely. It is well maintained, clean and has creative decor. Great pillows and bedding! I truly enjoyed communicating with the individuals working at Gilded. Breakfast was excellent - something for everyone!

There was an area for pool outside our room. Thank goodness no one played while we were there or else the noise would be bad.

The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. The common areas were really comfortable, well thought out usage of a restored and converted house.

The breakfast. While breakfast was made to order given the low occupancy, I think a continental style breakfast would go a long way because it minimizes the amount of cooking the staff has to do and it provides a bit more variety for breakfast.

Very beautiful property. Very vibrant and colorful. My room was upgraded due to it being the end of the season and low occupancy. The property is in walking distance to the Wharfs and their downtown areas. The Gilded has a sister property that gives you parking access to walk Cliffside which was beautiful that early in the morning.

It would have been nice to have a little kettle or coffee machine in the room. A mini fridge would be a bonus too.

We were staying on the main floor and had a little sitting room. We brought our breakfast every morning back to the room which was great. We stayed for 3 breakfast so there was a good variety over the stay. It was also a nice touch that there were cookies to grab throughout the day.

There was some confusion initially about checking in when I spoke to someone on the phone. Fortunately, when we arrived, there was a very inviting staff member to welcome us who was able to show us to our room and explain the ins and outs of the facility.

The room and facility were great. Breakfast in the morning was really interesting and different. The staff I interacted with in person were warm and friendly.

We had problems with the TV. After asking for help, it worked, till the next time. A channel guide could have helped. Would have liked a small fridge for cold drinks. Small things. Nothing major.

We thought it an exceptionally attractive B&B. Smartly decorated in Retro style, bold colors and patterns. It is very clean and fresh, not tired. The Staff is very helpful and friendly and the Breakfasts were beautiful and delicious. Very comfortable. Loved our stay.

This is my second time at the Gilded and it always ends up being a great stay. Location is perfect and the hotel itself is stunningly decorated. Breakfast is included and there is parking in the back.

We were a bit disappointed with the shower. It was very narrow and small with poor water pressure. I also noticed some old dirt/hair in the shower suggesting it wasn’t fully cleaned in between guests. Fortunately the rest of the bathroom and bedroom was clean.

We stayed at the Gilded for the Newport Folk Festival and it was the perfect location for us to get downtown before and after the festival. The hotel itself was lovely with colorful decor in an older vintage-like setting. The staff were very accommodating, even letting us park on site the morning we arrived to town before check in. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious! It was a definite upgrade from typical continental breakfasts and included lots of great options (fresh fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, ham, homemade banana and zucchini breads, scones). Our room was cozy and our bed was wicked comfortable.

Our room was on the very top floor and quite small. It was cute and well decorated but a tight squeeze for the 2 of us and our luggage. There is also no elevator which meant dragging suitcases up 2 narrow flights of stairs .....not a massive issue for us but could be a challenge for others.

Great decor and location. Breakfast was a lovely mix of freshly made warm and cold items.

Location was great. Place was very charming. I appreciated that they checked in during my stay to see how everything was. I also appreciated the texts ahead of time for parking information. Also the homemade cookies provided to guests were incredibly delicious! The bed was really comfortable, I could’ve slept in it all day.

Enjoyed everything. Great location, not far from the main street and trolley. Room was very big and comfortable. Breakfasts always consisted of a variety of items including delicious Overnight Oats. Host gave recommendations and instructions. Felt safe and secure. Maid brought fresh bath towels daily and made our bed. Would Definitely recommend.
