Shared bathrooms are very clean but what’s a bit annoying is the fact that the toilet and shower are in the same room so when you have someone else taking like 45 minutes showering and getting ready in the morning, you have to wait forever to go to the toilet.

Great beds, great location, friendly staff, cozy rooms. The hotel in general has this feel-at-home atmosphere- really lovely. I’d definitely stay here again.

Nice place to stay. The room was clean and had everything as described on booking (they even had iron on request). The staff is very helpful and friendly, can advise you about any service proximity of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and located in nice stylized in French place in neighbor property. The location is quite safe on day, although occasionally you can spot drug-addict people on the streets around, so better be careful at nights.

There's a cat on the hotel and the hotel kinda smells like cat sand.

100 Stars, Skittles the cat was the best experience on the hotel. I loved having the cat. She went in to our room and was super friendly.

The “crystal” faucet in the shower needs replacing: it takes ages to adjust this monstrous device and the temperature keeps jumping from freezing to boiling. Pity for wasted water 😕

Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Staff is friendly and breakfast served at the nearby hotel is ok. The main advantage is hotel’s perfect location.

The hotel is located in a nice Edwardian building and is more than a 100 years old. The decor is colonial style, very charming. The staff is friendly. The complementary breakfast is adequate. The hotel is located in the heart of the city.

There were two of us that shared a room at the hotel. My traveling companion and I were served our continental breakfast, which consisted of two muffins, two Croissants, (one for each of us ) our choice of water, tea, coffee or orange juice and there were butter and two different jams on our dining table. We didn’t want the muffins and only ate the croissants. When my companion asked for another croissant we were told that we could only have one. We didn’t receive any clean room service on one of our nights there at the hotel Instead, there was a plastic bag of clean towels left on the floor outside of our room door. We had difficulty getting the door unlocked to our room each day and on our last day there the door knob fell off all together and we couldn’t get into the room.

The staff were friendly, nice and helpful with directions. The hotel was built in 1913, the design of the hotel facilities and details demonstrated interesting history of the hotel.

Could do with a bit of an update as a bit tatty round the edges. Not very forthcoming about showing us how to use the lift even when they could see we had to lug our cases up the stairs.

There is a bit of street traffic noise (nothing that prevented sleeping even though our room overlooks Bush Street) and hilly walking required because you’re right in the middle of San Francisco!

In the middle of everything, a quaint, historic and comfortable room with a cat! Front desk was friendly and efficient and gave us excellent restaurant suggestions within walking distance.

The windows didn’t shut properly and mosquitoes kept entering the room. I couldn’t sleep well because of their buzzing. I know the building is old and this is not a major problem, but just bear this in mind if you struggle falling asleep. Maybe bring some earplugs.

The staff was very friendly. I liked the style and decor of the hotel. Very classy and yet it wasn’t as expensive as other places. Good value for money.

The lamp in the shared shower of the 3rd floor was not functioning at all during my 5 nights’ stay. I reported this to the reception and followed up on it 3 times, but this wasn’t fixed despite the staff already having notified their repair team. The water in the shower was very weak, ok to wash the body but challenging to wash long hair.

Loved Skittle the hotel cat! She came to stay with me for a night, jumped on my bed and walked on my pillow. In the morning she put her head under my hand trying to wake me up. She purrs when I pet her. This added so much to trip😍 Oh sorry, this is supposed to be a hotel review, not a cat review. So the hotel is lovely. I like the 1913 style very much. It is overall comfortable and cosy.
