Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe building layout is a bit odd so lots of up and down hallways and stairs to get to the exit closest to the pool area, unless you’re on the first floor. Also the television didn’t work; no cable TV or streaming features and none of the local broadcast channels worked.
Nice hot tub. Didn’t use the breakfast so can’t comment on that. Close enough to drive to Palisades but too far to walk to downtown Tahoe City.

The staff! They were fantastic! Their assistance and exuberance far outweighed the old room.

United StatesThe room needed a bit of refurbishment/improvement. It was obviously quite old with no recent renovation.
The restaurant (Cedar House Pub) exceeded expectations... the food was AMAZING. There was also snowshoe paths right on the Granlibakken property.

United StatesA great accommodation experience! The seven of us booked two apartment suites. The apartment is very tidy, the things are very complete, and it is very convenient to eat with plates and knives. It's great to have a balcony. The room is very tidy and comfortable. The heating is warm. It's very close to the scenic spot we are going to.

GermanyAs some point out the hotel might not be the most up to date or flashy but it really surpassed my expectations by a mile. I’ve been to a lot of 3* and 4* hotels in the US and it had by far the best breakfast I ever got in the states in a hotel with a good variation and a lot of freshly made food and fruits. The heated outdoor pool and sauna were nice, the gym was totally worth a visit. We had food in the pub which was also very nice. And all of the staff members were super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely love to comeback for snow season someday.

FranceBig complex. Past its heyday. Probably best for family gatherings not so much for just one night passing by. Super expensive (320$) for a room that is a bit rundown despite very clean and comfy bed. Surprised by truck(service or trash?) driving by at 7:30!! So much for sleeping in. Also Pool is 1/2 the size than in the pic. Breakfast not included.
Just next to town center. Secluded in the woods. Tennis courts and zip line

United StatesWe stayed three days and received no room service. When we requested restocking of towels, coffee and trash removal, we received clean bath towels only. The room was old and the noise between rooms is significant. I think we were booked in the oldest building (typical when you book on booking). Breakfast was extra $20 each because we did not book direct. Overall, these are just cautions. It was a good stay.
The location is beautiful and convenient to town The staff are wonderful and friendly. The food at the restaurant, though a small menu, was excellent. The tennis court, pool and hot tubs were clean and in good repair. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.

United States1. Studio in main lodge close to cedar house pub, reception was extremely noisy. 2. Guests and hote staff have no respect for people in the night that parties go on until midnight and it’s loud. 3. There is no A/ C in the room. So when temp is hot in the night and you open one window then all you hear are the parties and noise. So either you sweat inside the room or open the window and try to sleep with the loud parties. 4. Male staff at the reception are very grumpy and don’t seem like their job. 5. Kitchen kn studio is ok. The space is not to much and looks deceiving kn the picture. So plan accordingly. 6. Self Laundry is expensive. $1.75 per wash and $1.50 for drier seems off. 7. Pool is open only from 10am even during summer. This doesn’t make sense. They should open early when temp is 80+ at 9am itself. 8. For a studio with kitchen it’s a tad expensive but if you have kids and need kitchen this is an option you can try.
Location is good. Studio was reasonably clean and tree top was walking distance.
