How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I liked everything
Every person i interacted with was amazing. The breakfast was fantastic. I didn’t catch her name but the person working breakfast was exceptional, very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Nothing really. If it were winter, we might prefer to stay in the main building.
Short review: We'd be happy to return to the Grant Street Inn for our next event on the IU campus. Our room was clean. The furniture and linens were in excellent condition. No unpleasant surprises were encountered. The staff at the desk and at breakfast are very helpful and personable. The eggs and pastry at breakfast were fresh made, not packaged...yum. Very convenient to the IU Auditorium and many other campus areas. I don't know when we're returning to the IU campus, but Grant Street Inn will be on our accommodations short list.

The price per night was hiked up due to the solar eclipse.
Everything about the Grant Street Inn was fabulous- the staff was friendly and helpful, the accommodations were clean, and the location was wonderful- walking distance to every place we wanted to be.

It cost as much as an established hotel, but just had an old vibe. It was clean, but I had to buy a plug in. The floor was slanted, the toilet seat needs to be changed out. Too much fabric furniture that isn’t the most sanitary and it’s old. The surprise deer at my entry door was interesting; I wish I was warned.

Bible in the room would have been nice, but we did bring ours. Enough towels and wash clothes for number of guests. Remember that most ladies need a hair towel too. Walls very thin and could easily hear people in next room when talking normally. Probably the reason we wouldn’t stay again. No elevator.

The hospitality was second to none, and the breakfast was delightful with home made coffee cakes. There was an issue with our reservation and they called us en route to work things out. Incredibly professional and SO much better knowing in advance versus showing up. Great location to walk downtown for fun restaurants. We will return.

One thing that would have made our stay nicer would be a quiet room-heater. The heater seems old and makes a lot of noise when kicking on and off throughout the night. A little more light in our particular room would also have been nice, but these are details. We both enjoyed our stay!
I have consistently enjoyed my stay at the Grant Street Inn. David is always warm and welcoming, as are the folks at the reception desk. Everyone was eager to help.

The carpet in the room and nooks and crannies could use some attention.
The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast hostess went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Nothing has been bad. We are always pleased to stay here.
This was our second time staying here. Ruthie and Neshia serve up one of the best breakfasts possible! The food is so good and the service is warm and friendly. Coffee/tea are available 24 hours and there is usually something sweet on the counter in the lobby to go with. Everyone we've met there are amazing. Rooms are clean and well stocked, but if you need anything the front desk is a call away.

We reserved three rooms and two rooms were together and one room was across the street. It was not a major deal but would have preferred to be together.
the breakfast was AMAZING!!! So much better than other hotels!! it was gourmet and David, the Inn Keeper, was a true joy. Everyone was welcoming and it was also nice to meet an actual chef in house preparing the food. Thank you!

We were there for graduation at Indiana University and it was perfect! The location is within walking distance to most of IU, the rooms were spacious, the breakfast was good, and there were delicious cookies available in the lobby. The Inn had lots of spaces for family or friends to gather.

My only very slight complaint is our king mattress had a divot in the middle so I kept rolling to the middle of the bed.
The breakfast is just great. The staff is very friendly. In the afternoon they have coffee and homemade cookies out for all in the lobby.
