We loved being surrounded by fruit trees and animals. Our private porch area was perfect for lounging. Breakfast was delicious. Very near excellent snorkel spots. Would highly recommend staying here.

Parking was a bit tight. You must be very careful as you exit the property onto a very busy main artery.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts, which were customized to support special diets and served on the lanai with a view of the ocean. Our room was comfortable and had a private lanai with an ocean view. We had access to dishes, utensils, and a microwave and we had a small refrigerator on our lanai for our exclusive use. The hosts, Carl and Alma, were welcoming and wonderful. Excellent value! We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder while waiting for breakfast and the daily parade of wild pigs and piglets behind the property.

Very easy to hear neighbors, so we were careful to whisper or keep voices low. Used our laptop and phone for TV but WiFi was very good.

Emma and Carl could not have been nicer, and they were cautious about offering foods that we might not be able to eat.

We liked just about everything. The frogs, or croakers as Carl called them, kept me awake the first night but sang me to sleep the last two nights. Elma’s breakfasts were fabulous, and she packed us a delicious Hawaiian breakfast burrito when we had to leave early on the last day. Kona hospitality and coffee! We enjoyed our evenings on the back patio right off of our room. I would definitely go back.

The Hale Hoola B&B is located south of Kona, in a more rural area, but close enough to easily visit with a car. The three rooms are located on the ground floor, each with a private furnished lanai. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The bathroom had a bathtub/shower combination. There is a public seating area with beach gear, travel information, and a microwave. Dishes and basic cooking utensils and supplies are available. The hosts are very friendly people with much to share about the property and the area. The breakfast is amazing with a fully cooked egg dish, fruit, bread or bagel, and Kona coffee. The price was a real value for the area. We had an excellent stay and would be happy to return.

Comfortable room and bed with nice bathtub and shower combo to please us both. Good free wifi, convenient and free parking and of course great hosts and the breakfasts were superb! They had all the beach gear you could need including coolers, chairs, towels, scuba gear and umbrellas for shade and we think their location is great! we enjoyed the location and the views of the garden. you could observe cattle and feral pigs with their young ones right outside the lanai(balcony). when we came to the Island it was High surf advisory, so late at night you could hear the waves splashing in the distance. things that we liked: * room had a small fridge on the lanai, we found it very useful, * there was a microwave in the hall with some shared utilities. * breakfast was included, enjoyed some local fruits even though it was winter time * snorkeling gear (there were masks, fins, beach chairs other items that we could use during our stay) * close distance to Two Step site and Captain Cook location which was the best snorkeling experience on the Big Island despite the waves. wish we had more time to explore this area

There is absolutely no reason why I ever look for another place to stay when I am on Hawaii Big Island. Friendly, clean, great breakfast and ready to answer any question you may have regarding the island, activities and much more. The ranking is well deserved!! The description is exactly what you will get. Animals are close by, you will hear the nature and as long as you won't be suprised about that, I cannot imagine any reason to not love the stay at this B&B.

The facility wasn't able to accommodate a crib for my 1yo, but Elma and Carl figured out a safe way to arrange the beds for the 4 of us anyways.

Nice B&B, Elma and Carl are very welcoming and helpful, excellent breakfast. The room has a nice balcony that is big enough to have a meal in 4 people

While internet is provided it can be spotty at times. just something to consider if that is super important to you.

Nice place that is a central starting point to activities without being right in a touristy spot. Lanais for each room provide a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal or catch a view of some wild pigs. Couple running the place are very nice and can provide recommendations on places to visit. Breakfast was delicious.
