How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I was a bit disheartened that the breakfast options were almost identical every day with very little difference in what is being served, even for fruit or oatmeal toppings, but I liked that there WERE options! I didn't know there was secondary seating until my second morning there,same with the 24hr coffee service. Both of which we enjoyed immensely, so I would suggest better signage to advertise those areas. I really really really wish there was a hot tub.
Loved the breakfast! Tasted wonderful and everything was fresh with a great texture. My kids adored the waffle stations! The concierge were very helpful and all of the staff were super nice! We had a lovely breakfast time conversation with one of the kitchen staff. She was so sweet! I loved that there are 2 different areas to sit for meals and that one of them offers 24hr coffee service. I especially adored when poking around the eating areas that all the "decorative books" were actual books that anyone could sit and read!

Mattress way too hard and pull out couch not very comfortable for our guest and blanket was stained. Had desk call to get it remade up for the night.

Everyone from the check-in process to the room location was EXCELLENT. I could not have selected a better place to stay while in Boston. I would encourage everyone to stay at this hotel. So wonderful.

Breakfast was really ordinary. Staff although not rude just didn’t look like they were interested in being there. Reception staff looking at their mobile phones every time we walked past reception. Porters would wait to get a tip before offering to help with taking bags out of cars or putting them in.

The staff here were very helpful especially the lovely African American lady with long braids who was working the weekend of 26th April each evening/night. I did not catch her name but she helped me with a delivery of food that was incorrect on our first night after a very long trip to Boston. The rest of the staff were also very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a bit chaotic especially on the weekend. However, on the Monday we stayed, I found the quality of the food was better and also the hotel was obviously not as crowded. The room was spacious and they did place us in a quiet area of the hotel as requested. My bed was a little uncomfortable and soft and the mattress probably needs to be changed. I slept at the edge of the bed because of this but since our room was so quiet, I decided against asking to switch rooms in case we ended up in a busier area of the hotel. Short walk into the city but not much around in the way of stores etc. I would stay again if I come back to Boston and the biggest reason is the lovely people who work there.

Check in was OK, nothing our of the ordinary. We asked for restaurants to eat or recommendations around the Seaport area and the girl doing the check in give us a piece of paper with names of places. Zero effort for recommendations. Very automated.
Good Location. Hotel was nice, room OK nothing out of the ordinary. We were there for a night only.

Everything was great.
Speedy check-in. Lovely staff. Comfortable and clean room. However, there were children running around in the room above for a time that interrupted sleep in the evening. Staff were immediately responsive.

Last year they had an afternoon social with snacks I missed and was part of why I choose to go back.
