Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDefinitely a dated look with the feeling of deferred maintenance and upkeep. The door latch was loosened and my husband needed to get a screwdriver to fix it. I would not have stayed in the room by myself. Tissue box was emptied and had not been refilled.
The bed was comfortable. The room was clean.

United StatesThe out of order lobby restrooms, elevator and satellite TV going out in a hotel you should have cable.
The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean!! On the other hand the elevator was not working the lobby restrooms were out of order, and on a stormy day the satellite did not work. They did tell us the elevator part had been ordered and offered to help take the bags up for us which we declined but appreciated the offer. The pool was open and the a/c worked well in our room.

United StatesThe message about wearing face coverings must be out of date. I was the only one wearing a mask during my visit. None of the staff or the other guests were wearing masks. This was true for the Hampton Inn in St. Joseph and the Hampton Inn in Michigan City where I stayed on Sunday night. With regard to the hotel in St. Joseph, the staff was helpful and cordial. My room - #205 - the water in the shower went from TOO HOT to SCALDING HOT. There wasn't any cold water. It was dangerously hot. I reported this to staff. I hope it has since been addressed. The hotel needs more sound proofing. The noise from the interstate plus a noise that seemed to come from everywhere - loud rumbling that ebbed and flowed throughout the night made sleep difficult. I did not have this problem with the Hampton Inn in Michigan City which is also near the interstate.
The bed was comfortable

United StatesBottom line, this hotel really needs a rehab. Definitely didn't have the feel of a Hilton property. Dirty worn carpeting throughout, air conditioning barely works and makes strange noises all night, musty smell in room and mold on the lampshades. Shelves with a lot of dust (more mold?) Pool was completely shut down, perhaps permanently? (my bad, I didn't confirm there was a working pool when I made the reservation), I just assumed all Hampton Inns had them). Poor lighting in room and bathroom, was hard to get ready for the event we were going to. Bugs constantly flying around in room (fruitflies?) - which was no surprise since all the doors at both ends of the hallway were always left open except at night. Doubtful we will return.
Here for the weekend. We weren't there to hang out in the hotel, so I guess it was a good deal as the rates were quite a bit lower than the other hotels in the area. We were put on the first floor- Rm 114. Free breakfast had a decent enough selection. Room was missing a hair dryer, and staff was nice enough to replace.

United StatesThe value - the hotel is not anything special and for over $200 a night I was expecting something nicer (pull-down shade in the room was broken, floor tiles in the bathroom are all cracked, shower floor is stained from dirt/use … ) the bed was also stiff as a board.
We liked breakfast and the room seemed clean. The location was also conveniently located to see Saint Joseph and also the wineries in Baroda.

United StatesThe noise from I-94 was constant (throughout the entire night). The chairs in the room were stained! and the room looked as if it had not been vacuumed (wrappers were on the floor).
The breakfast choices were excellent! The front desk staff were extremely welcoming and gave assistance (additional towels were needed), without hesitation. The location was easy to locate (right off of I-94).

United StatesWe had to wait nearly a half hour in the lobby for our room to be ready. When it was ready, it wasn't completely clean. Nightstands were notable dusty, mirrors were streaky, part of the window shade was broken and laying underneath. A streaky mirror doesn't ruin one's stay, but it was noticeable. We could not find a working vending machine in the building. Signs were posted showing that it was out of order, and the same was true about a waffle maker. When you have a lot of people wanting waffles at breakfast, you should make it a point to get it fixed quickly. I thought it was odd that the staff also joined in eating breakfast during the breakfast rush when food wasn't being refilled quickly. (If enjoying breakfast is a perk of employment here, my apologies for pointing this out.)
The pillows were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The location was convenient for what we wanted to visit. It was near restaurants.
