Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

North MacedoniaThe breakfast was below average. Based on eggs and waffles. For someone who has been there for a week, every day the same choice, with almost no choice. A room with almost no daylight, not enough space to leave clothes, especially for someone staying longer than a night or two.
The location is perfect and the staff is pleasant and helpful.

We were at the breakfast every morning at 8(so I don’t think it was late) and there was not enough warm food for us, the staff was telling us that there is no more left… there was no alternative milk for 2 mornings and no waffle mix one morning and staff at the breakfast wasn’t helpful at all. Apart from that all good.

Room was rather small, but it was mentioned and not surprising. Breakfast added, although, not a great variety, but very much sufficient for the day start. Coffee, some refreshing drinks, porridge, eggs and bacon/sausages, waffles, bread and butter.

United StatesThey were all out of any toppings though (chocolate sauce and caramel) which was a bummer. Also there wasn’t a clear traffic pattern, so breakfast was basically chaos. Maybe a separate table for the microwave since it was almost impossible to get to. Also, the sink was small in the bathroom, and the mirror stuck out quite a bit from the wall, so I couldn’t wash my face in the sink without smashing my forehead into the mirror and getting water all over the place.
For breakfast, I liked the waffle machines (particularly the strawberry) and these little premade omelets they had.

United StatesMaybe the only downside is that the rooms were not very big, which is expected in NYC. I'm not saying I was uncomfortable, I'm just saying they are smaller than in other places.
You can't beat the location. 1 block away from Penn station. The place was very clean. But the most important thing was the staff. They were super friendly and helpful. We had a situation in our room and it was fixed immediately. Literally we had some coffee downstairs and when we went back up it was resolved.

United StatesI hate to be little about things since I am not perfect by any means. But for the purpose of this survey I will say the room size and layout of the room. That being said the room was clean and comfortable for three adults. I missed not having a second chair in the room because I do not like sitting on beds. Any one thinking they were going to get a spacious room will be disappointed. But we slept good and we were no worse the wear from our stay. That is the least we expect.
I liked the friendliness of the staff there and how well the rest rooms were stocked with towels and other items. We are not the habitual travelers but we appreciate good service and clean rooms. Our stay at the Hampton filled the bill for us in location and need. The event we attended was but a short distance away as was a very good restaurant we wanted to go to. We had a good nights stay in comfort. I hardly ever rate any place I stay as excellent but more utile for our purposes. We have stayed at a Hamptons before and we have had no reason for complaints at any.

United StatesWatch your pending transactions! Apparently it is general hotel policy to charge for in-room water bottles, whether used or not. This caused the property to "lose" my credit card authorization, and it appeared I was going to be charged twice for the stay! The manager was able to solve the problem and explain the situation.
Breakfast room and lobby were surprisingly large for a Manhattan hotel. Room was clean and comfy. Elevators fast. Apprecaited the extra security keycard usage to use the elevators. So convenient to Penn Station and midtown in general.

United StatesBreakfast is just OK, but there's a good variety of food so it's definitely worth it. It's strange that they call your room shortly after you check in to see if it's OK. The phone call was worthless since I couldn't understand the person on the other end. So it completely freaked my wife out when they called later at night—again the caller didn't identify themselves or sound professional. She thought it was someone checking to see if we were out of our room. My wife was sick so she wanted to watch TV and unlike most hotels, there was no program guide and a somewhat limited selection of channels.
The location is perfect for traveling, just 1.5 avenue blocks from Penn Station. Staff was excellent and checked us in early with no extra charge. Elevators were very fast. Everything in room worked, including the USB ports.
