Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFront desk did not listen to my instructions on how to divide the total costs among 4 of us. We were on a "GirIs' Trip and I was charged the full amount of 2 rooms for 4 individual people. He told we could split the cost 4 ways at check-out, which we did! Front desk SAID he was going to take the original (check-in) charge of the 3 others off my account, but he did not! Hampton Inns got paid DOUBLE for this stay. I am still fighting this 2 weeks later. Also, I left a HOTEL LAUNDRY BAG full of dirty clothes and forgot it. After returning home the next day, a call to the hotel informed me that Housekeeping assumed it was trash and threw it out!!!!! BAH!! I lost about $300 in clothing.
Location is Ideal. Just around the corner from Little Italy with all its great restaurants and smaller boutique shops. It was also across the street from the Harbor and all the activity going on there. Best part? All this was within a comfortable walking distance from hotel.

United StatesThe elevators are a bit rough. Each one had it's own quirk that all of us guests would discuss. They would either bounce up and down or make loud noises. It also should be noted that there are train tracks that are loud next to the hotel
Breakfast was good. Access to the venue I needed to be at was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is very close to Little Italy so walking there for dinner each night was a breeze.

United StatesParking garage is small. Breakfast area was extremely crowded for the 4th of July. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.
Clean rooms and great location only 8 minutes walking distance to Little Italy and 10 minutes driving to the Gaslamp Quarter.

FinlandThe elevators in the hotel practically did not work properly during my entire 3-day stay. Only one of the three elevators worked when worked..., if you are disabled, don't choose this hotel! There were also bad instructions about the floors to the stairs that lead to the lobby. The sink in the room did not drain properly and the breakfast was limited. The price of parking ($40/night+tax) is outrageously expensive.
The staff was nice and the hotel manager was down-to-earth and practical. The rooms and common areas are clean, the cleaning works. The towels were soft and of good quality, and there were enough of them. There are enough parking spaces in the hall and even a big car (F150 truck) could fit there. The location of the hotel is great. A short walk to the beach, the USS ship, Little Italyy, etc. We walked 30 min to Balboa park and about 30 min to Petco Park stadium. The swimming pool outside was nice, sufficient and clean. High-quality pool towels were available. The gym was Hampton type, very small, but functional. The staff handled my complaint matter-of-factly and professionally, I am satisfied.

United StatesThis hotel was amazing. I was traveling with my parents, who are in their 70s, and my 5 year old son. The location was perfect. The Waterfront park across the street had security officers till 10pm. I was comfortable playing at the park with my son and felt very safe in that neighborhood. The Old Town Trolley picks up two blocks in front of the hotel which was helpful to minimize walking for my parents. The breakfast was good and we loved the location. We would walk two block to Little Italy for dinner.

United StatesNo microwave in room. Charge for parking.
Breakfast was not as good as I liked. The scrambled eggs appear to be processed liquid. 1 of 3 mornings had bacon. Other selections like bagels were not memorable. Coffee was hot and fresh. Location is the best, only 10min from airport, a short walk to the waterfront and ship museums and attractions. Petco Park is nearby (did not go there), and the S Diego Zoo is 15min away, that was great. The Italy district is 3 blocks away walking distance, which had plenty of restaurants and live atmosphere. Room was good. Service is fine. No microwave in the room though, so to use it, you have to go down to the lobby. Daily charge for parking $$. Parking garage was secured that activates the gate with room keycard.

AustraliaThere were so many guests at the hotel you could hardly get a seat in the breakfast room which is understandable. I asked on four mornings of my stay for sanitiser to be placed in the empty containers in foyer and in the breakfast room and at the lift stairwell. Of six sanitisers in the hotel I knew of, only 1 on 4th floor every worked. One of the very hard working kitchen staff said the kitchen one hadn't worked for months so I asked the very busy (not) young man on reception two mornings running and he said he would ask someone to do it. When I asked him again on the third morning he said I asked!!!!!! With so many people self serving all using the same utensils in the breakfast room sanitiser is a mandatory requirement. We travelled USA for 74 days and in no other hotel, whatever class was there no sanitiser. We are not over covid and other germs and this should be standard everywhere, even in your hotel.
the staff in the breakfast room were so hard working and polite. Even with a full hotel they were very efficient.

The property is a great place to stay downtown San Diego if this where you want to stay. So close to water just a cross a street the parking garage was difficult if you drive a large SUV or truck 2 street or blocks away from little Italy. A must place to see and eat. The food amazing a nice night life. The waterfront a nice walk to see the large ships and boats and a cross the street a clean safe playground for the kids

United Statesthis time we were at the back of the hotel and we could hear the train… all. night. and. day. it was really loud and I get the hotel can’t help the sound but we had our one year old with us and it did make it a little challenging to get him down because of the train alarms. also the elevators were really slow.
great location next to the park and sea side. we love this hotel this was our second time. staff was fantastic as usual, breakfast was hot and tasty. parking is fair price for the location as well. walkable to a lot of things too.
