Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe breakfast could have been better. While this a a budget hotel I would prefer better than better plates, cups and bowls. While these are stated to be recyclable there was food on all of them and they are all discarded into the one trash bin. In these times of sustainability and climate change I would like if this hotel group would consider looking at ways to reduce emissions.
Excellent location just off Times Square, so ideal for exploring the city. Also close to a subway to further explore. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Joseph was more than willing to help store our bags as our room was not ready when we arrived.

United StatesWe were not able to check in until 4pm, which was a bit frustrating. However, the front desk clerk who helped up kept us up to date the whole time we waited and let us know he was actively working on getting our room and we were not forgotten about.
The rooms were nice and clean. The elevators are fast. The staff is very kind. Fantastic location.

IcelandToo small beds for two to sleep in. I would have loved to have a mini fridge in the room to store water and free bottled water would have been nice. The tap water was not good.
The location was excellent and the breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable even though is was a bit samall for two people

Costa RicaThe hotel has 3 elevators for 31 floors, however, there are only 2 available during breakfast time, so imagine the tragedy trying to get to the 1st floor!
Excellent location, all is around the corner. The hotel has great maintenance and is always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok.

United KingdomLocation was good- close to the metro station and Bryant Park but some suspicious people near hotel at the evening time. Bonus from the hotel as the entrance was guarded and you had to have keys to your room to enter the hotel at night and to use the lift. When checking in the hotel MAKE SURE THAT THEY CHARGE THE FULL AMOUNT ON YOUR CARD. I paid at the check in for our stay and then on our last night the hotel tried to charge some additional amount on my card - I was told that the room taxes and fees hasnt been charged at the check in time so they charged me on the last night- as no sufficient money was available on my pre paid card that I was using during our stay they have charged the rest from my credit card which also added me additional fees as the transaction was paid in difference currency which I didn’t agree with the hotel. At the check in I was told that if I will not make any additional purchases to my room I wont be charged anything else and then on the last night surprise as the hotel tried 3 times to get additional money from me pre paid card and then charged my credit card which I only used for the room deposit and never agreed to be used for any additional fees. This really made me angry on my last day in NYC. I was afraid to put some more money on my pre paid card as I was afraid that the hotel will come back to me and will charge me for something else. Otherwise than unpleasant experience with payment process our stay in the hotel was quite good. Not a very high standard of the hotel but specious rooms and clean hotel. The guy at the breakfast room was very kind and tried to speak with all the guests- very helpful man. I must to say that I will not consider our next stay at this hotel as our previous hotel which we stayed in last year was 5 blocks away and was better standard including customer service and safety for about the same price.
Nice spacious rooms. Very clean hotel. Breakfast even though there was not much variety you always had something to start your day. I have asked for a room with a view and was placed on 25th floor with beautiful city view. I booked standard double room and got nice view as a bonus. Thank you for the room.

United StatesOne thing that I didn't know, booking through a third party no longer allows Hilton Honors to collect points. That's news to me. Folks at the front desk seemed a bit overwhelmed with the rush of people..
Location was great.. easy access. The lobby for some reason was quite busy and we had to wait for a few rounds of elevator to go up and same to go down. But its ok! Its a budget hotel so its understandable. Breakfast was great.. again, a bit of a line factory and overly busy! But it was ok

United StatesFor some reason Uber couldn't find us. Every time we called for an Uber they wanted us to walk to another location to meet them. We had to keep explaining to them where the Hampton Inn was.
Breakfast was good, location was excellent. It was within walking distance of a lot of attractions like the theater district, Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Times Square, subway, tour buses, and restaurants.
