Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesBed wasn't comfortable, blankets weren't comfortable. Definitely bring a soft blanket. I wouldn't stay here again with my girlfriend and I absolutely wouldn't bring children here. For $80 a night, if I'm alone, that's fine. People are loud and obnoxious all night. Past 8pm, everything starts to smell like weed from people smoking in the stairwells. It was loud until around 2-3am with people screaming and slamming doors. Definitely did not feel safe.
Location is great, right off the highway and plentt of food and stores nearby. Staff was nice. It's good enough for $80 a night. The room was clean and water was hot.

JapanCheck in was interesting due to 1) the bullet-resistant glass and slide under for docs, 2) the clerk who was too busy playing a game on his phone, 3) no access to lobby due to the door being locked and having no handle. Well on to the room. After getting at least a bit of attention I was told that the room was on the second floor, on the back. I pull my luggage to the stairs to find a pile of vomit. I had pre-paid this room so I pushed on to see what other treasures awaited. At the top of the creaky wood stairs is my room and more vomit. I find the room and written on the door in Sharpie is “pull handle up”, I also note the frame is out of shape. Not a good sign. I fidgeted with the key until I could open the door and am greeted with a “beep!” The beep is the smoke alarm due to either a) bad wiring b) the smell of drugs smoked. It beeped every minute or so. There is no secondary lock on the door on the inside. The bed is crap. The shower is not clean. The chairs are lumpy. And then there is the door, with no security. Took about 5 minutes on my phone and I found another hotel within 5 minutes travel and bailed. Lost about 400USD. And then spent another 600USD. It was Thanksgiving weekend, lucky to find anything. When I arrived at the other hotel the clerk was surprised that I had just made the reservation. I told her where I was previously and said “Oh, Honey. You don’t want to be there. You are safe now.” I told this story to 2 other people on my trip. One is a paramedic and said “Are you kidding? I have pulled numerous ODs from there.” I will not say what the other said, but it was actually worse. Amazingly this place is a short distance from the police department headquarters and a major luxury car seller. Any reviews you see rating this place highly should be treated as suspect.
