Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe check in.. we really had troubles finding the office (tower 2 4 floor) and when we arrived the office was closed and envelopes were outside without any names just room numbers, but we never were informed which room is ours.. they provide numbers which you can call but for us this was not possible with our sim card. One of the numbers provided had WhatsApp and helped us then.
Very good for the price !! Especially as parking is included. Our room was clean and we didn't have any mold or anything. Very nice location!

United StatesIt took numerous calls to obtain a key code for the unit. I was advised by email that the unit number and access code would be provided within 3 days of arrival upon telephone inquiry. However, no one answered the telephone number provided, nor returned my calls. Hawaiian Sun Holidays is closed Sundays and Tuesdays, and I was not advised by phone or text that the key code would be left on the office bulletin board. And I had no idea where the Hawaiian Sun Holidays office was located. I had to call the Emergency contact to be advised on the day of arrival of my unit number and access code to the unit. The unit itself was very nice and clean, and love the location of the condo!
Location was great as I love the Kapiolani Park side of Waikiki. Parking on-site was very convenient. Unit was spacious and clean, if a bit dated. Overall a good stay!

AustraliaHaving stayed at the Waikiki Banyan previously, we missed the little extras such as body boards, snorkelling gear, beach umbrella etc that were great last time.
Free parking was a bonus and the location was great. Pink trolley stop was close by and it's only a short stroll to the beach.

United Statesjacuzzi could be a little bit bigger to match the size of the hotel/resort. Yes, there were 2 jacuzzi but it only fits 4 people each comfortably. Washer and dyer in floor 14 tower 1 was not functioning properly but each floor is equipped.
Hawaiin Sun Holidays was perfectly location in the heart of Ku'ho street. 1 block from Waikiki beach and less than a mile from all the yummy restaurants and hole and wall eateries. The property provided free parking which is a plus since majority of the parking fees in Waikiki are between $30-$65 per night in addition to whatever "Destination fee" each resort charges which was $110 per night at The Courtyard by Marriott down the street. For beach lovers, fresh towels and beach chairs were provided but no umbrella. Balcony view was the best part, partially looking over Diamond Head and pool side view.

United StatesElectric stove with one burner not working. Old, outdated furniture, some of which was not in good shape. The front door stuck badly so that we had to lean into it to open. Few condiments in the kitchen, only salt and pepper. Elevator was slow during busy times and 1 was out of service in each tower.
The location was in Waikiki very near, but not on, the beach. Melissa was a very good manager and brought us what we needed. She also communicated well. The garage was convenient if tight. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils. Bathroom was OK, incl. shower.

ItalyHorrible check-in experience. We emailed them a few days before traveling as per their directions. Never received a reply. Once we got there no one was in the office and when we were able to contact them they told us that “someone “ had cancelled our reservation but when we asked for proof of this supposedly real cancellation no evidence was provided. Asked repeatedly, no evidence. Finally another room was given to us. Also the person in charge never mentioned that we could have received a key to access the sauna therefore the sauna is not really available unless you specifically go to the office and ask for the key.

AustraliaThe condo itself wasn’t very clean, or in good condition. The kitchen was barely passable and had a broken kettle and broken vegetable drawer in the fridge. Surfaces weren’t clean when we arrived and they didn’t really provide adequate cleaning products. We were allocated a room on level 7 that looked directly out at the pool. It felt very open and public, we had to keep our blinds closed after dark otherwise anyone in the rec area could see straight into our condo. I contacted the staff about these issues and did not receive a response back after being there for a whole week. Friends staying in the same tower through a different rental company had a much nicer and better equipped condo for a similar price.
The location of the complex is fantastic. Very close to the beach, zoo, restaurants and amenities. Parking was easy and it’s a simple drive out of the complex to get onto the Main Street out of Waikiki.
