Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesWalls too thin on old side. Heard television until 3 am when I called down. Neighboring room turned it off; then heard snoring. Horrible night sleeping. Toilet extremely low to ground. Room across had dog barking. It is under renovation so it should be good once done. My problem happened on week-end. They have signs up about noise on weekdays.
Location. Unfortunately terrible sleeping. Staff tried to solve problem. Before this owner, never any problem. Stayed many times before. It was beautiful then. Now turning it into more "modern" with small lobby. Taking out ballroom floor & big windows for more rooms.

Loved the kitchenette. The coffee maker had a bent lid so couldn't use it but they had fresh coffee in the lobby. Even with construction it was nicer than many other hotels we have visited.

United StatesThe entire facility is undergoing a re-model. The lobby was covered in sheet rock dust and I had to walk a long hallway that was covered in plastic sheeting. When other rooms turned their water on, it was very loud in my room.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My room was clean and well-prepared for my visit.

United StatesIt had snowed and nobody cleared the sidewalk. They seemed to be using the renovation going on as a reason not to maintain lobby area and rest of hotel. Checking in the desk clerk had to phone someone on how to do the check in. The water to the toilet had been turned off. After I open valved it was obvious the toilet would continue to run unless you jiggle the handle just right to get the flapper close correctly. The hot/cold water in the shower was backwards. If you turned the control to warm shower you got cold water and turned back to cold you would get hot water. Did not see any vending/ice machines. The room itself was fine, stayed two nights without any housekeeping service.
Not sure if there was a breakfast the desk clerk made no mention. Again the hotel was under renovation so this may not have been available at this time.

The hotel was being remodeled. This made it less than normal. Room was good and comfortable. Few amenities. The site had said the hotel had breakfast. There was no breakfast, perhaps because of the remodeling. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Staff made very little effort to interact with guests. It was close to where I needed to be the next day, easy to find and quiet.

Continental Breakfast was coffee, orange drink and dry cereal. Wish I would have known ahead of time about these issues and would have booked a different hotel.

United StatesMuch or even most of the problems are the fault of booking.com, as much as the hotel's. The photos shown on booking.com's website are completely inaccurate and thoroughly misleading. When I arrived, the entire lobby was gutted (I downloaded photos from booking.com's website to confirm the false representation). In fact, the bulk of the hotel was under construction, which made for a very unpleasant stay. This was NOT noted on booking.com's website description. Further, the AC was broken so the hallways and central areas were roasting. The hallways were in a state of disrepair, with torn-up drywall and floorboards and exposed fixtures. The carpet in the hallways was filthy and smelled distinctly of mold and mildew. I woke up with a screaming headache, which is a sure sign of mold—not only unsanitary, but dangerous. The rooms aren't any better. The toilet was stained and dirty, and ran all night. The wifi didn't work. The AC didn't work properly and was so loud it kept me up most of the night. The coffee maker did little more than leak hot water everywhere. The mattress had actual, visible lumps in it; I stripped the bed halfway through the night to be sure I wasn't imagining it. I've taken more than a dozen photos to document these problems. At best, my room was rundown and grubby, with scratches, dings and damage on every single item. At worst, it was completely uninhabitable. In short: besides the unpleasant facilities, booking.com's advertising of this hotel was misleading at best, and dangerously close to fraudulent. I have reached out to booking.com, but have yet to receive a reply. Be warned, everyone.
The only good thing I can say about this hotel was the service was excellent; the young man who checked me in was courteous and helpful, and clearly embarrassed about the sad state of this hotel.
