Well situated, gorgeous historic hotel was a unique travel experience and is a must-see in Buffalo.

The A/C / temp control in my room was out so it was a bit stifling. Soldiered through due to Midwest nice tendencies and the temperate weather, but the windows didn't open so by the third night I was kind of over it. My own fault for not asking to be moved to a different room. Just a heads up for anyone who needs windows that open!

The location couldn't be beat. Staying at a historic hotel on a college campus when the students were gone for the summer was a kick. Situated perfectly between Buffalo happenings and Niagara Falls. Walking distance to the art museum and great neighborhood coffee shops! Ate at the Cocina in the hotel one night. The waitstaff at the bar were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Had an amazing pork belly and the best tiramisu I've ever head. Highly recommend.

Breakfast could have been better organized and more accommodating. I know it was just a continental breakfast but there was no place to sit and food was gone fast.

The history of the location was really cool. The front desk staff was super nice and accommodating. The grounds were well kept and easy access to the hotel.

I understand that people can get lost in such a vast facility; however, the signage - especially at the entry - the arrows pointing to the lobby - too much - takes away from the beauty of the place. It's overkill the arrows in the foyer.

Breakfast was fine - nothing to write home about. The hotel and grounds are amazing and I sincerely enjoyed my stay.

Restaurant & bar was not open on the night we stayed. Room had some mechanical sounds in the night. Breakfast room needs more small tables for guests.

Large comfortable King room with tall ceilings & natural light/views. Wonderful historical preservation & conversion of the original building. Small museum & Architecture center for history of the building. Great location for visits to the FLW Martin House or the AKG gallery.

Really nothing that we did not like. Wished there was a mini fridge in the room. It was a Monday night and the bar restaurant was not open. Hotel was quiet. Someone in a review said they heard road noise but we did not. There was a random noise that we heard intermittently like a loud buzzing that was annoying and would have been hard to sleep but they allowed us to change our room.

The hotel has such an interesting history that we had to stay here! What a beautiful and remarkable renovation! We walked around the interior and took tons of photos and the exterior perimeter. The person at the desk was knowledgeable and friendly. Our room was lively. The large windows are awesome! I can't say enough good things about it and would stay here again! The restoration is magnificent. They left exposed columns and other areas which was super cool. We took tons of photos. It was only about 15 minutes to the airport. Good location. Bed was quite comfortable. I think all of the signage was helpful in such a large facility. The small museum downstairs was agreat addition and quite interesting.

Room was smaller than expected, only chair was not built for comfort, furnishings didn’t seem to fit the vibe. No fridge. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was nice but not as pictured - we really wanted the tub and thought we had paid for that room based on the pics.

    Stunning property, so much history.

The room was beside a water tank of some sort- a constant humming all night and sounds of water flushing, no blackout curtains and only one comfy chair lots of room for 2

The uniqueness of the property being an old psychiatric hospital; all of the nooks and beautiful curves of the building and windows, hardware etc

The mattress was awful and there was no mini fridge. The TV wasn’t smart so I couldn’t stream anything and there were few channels to watch.

The architecture and history was made this hotel almost a destination in itself! The Continental breakfast was more than a continental breakfast. The history of the hotel was sooo cool but I am surprised that wasn’t disclosed in the website that the place used to be an asylum because I can see some types of people being VERY upset finding this out during their stay.

Showers could use an update; water did not stay hot and leaked out from the space on the door where the hinges attach to the shower door / wall.

Cocktails were great; all staff were professional, helpful and very attentive. Hotel is creepy and awesome. Bed was super comfortable.
