Spectacular!!!! It was amazing experience to stay at a beautiful mansion! We did our private wedding photoshooting here and one of their staff member helped us and took hundreds of photos for us! Everyone at this place were very nice too! I would definitely comeback and stay longer!

The men's bathroom didn't smell very great. The receptionists left a little more to be desired. The room we were in (22) was very bright in the morning and uncomfortably hot in the mornings. Both of us woke up in a puddle of our own sweat.

The mansion itself was very beautiful inside and out. The parking was close by.

I believe this hostel has room for improvement. Firstly, there is no laundry machine. If you stay for more than a week, you will likely need to clean your clothes. Currently, you have to go to a self-service laundry facility outside the hostel, which takes about 15 minutes to reach on foot. Secondly, there is only one restroom on each floor! There might be more than 5 rooms on a single floor, and I believe each room can accommodate 5 or more people. That means, if the hostel is fully booked, then potentially 25 or more people might have to share a restroom (if they are the same gender). I understand the scarcity of restrooms is likely due to the age of the building, but it did cause some inconvenience for me.

Both the interior and exterior of the hostel are amazingly beautiful. The old-fashioned style of the hostel feels like the backdrop of a movie. From what I've heard, this building was constructed in 1885. All the staff members were very kind, and the other guests were also really nice. Access to the hostel is controlled by a bell system. That means only authorized individuals can enter the lobby, making it safe. The location is very close to the city hall. You can easily reach popular tourist spots on foot.

Everything was fine. There is a shared bathroom (very clean) but it was not busy enough for that to ever be a problem (we stayed on the 3rd floor).

This is a great historic mansion in downtown Sacramento. The staff is very friendly, free breakfast, affordable. If you are friendly, you can mingle with international folks (one of the perks of hostels). The room was quiet and comfortable. If you do not need a lot of tech such as tvs and stereos you will be fine (there is free WiFi). It was a perfect spot to stay after a show at Harlow's in downtown Sacramento.

Unfortunately there's a homeless encampment across the street, and you can smell it from the building. There's a lot of yelling late at night which made it hard to sleep

Very cute place! The house itself is an old mansion and they have done a great job in keeping the rooms in that style and fashion. I had a solo room and it was lovely. Honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in!
