Current online check-in by Highbrow Motel asks for details of credit card. Booking apps (with whom booking was done) already have info. Not sure of how comfortable are customers to verify and provide such info to requests outside booking apps. Suggest to allow online check-in but for customers to settle payment directly with hotel on check-in (in line with standard practice).

Motel is an older facility. But clean and well maintained. Procedures for check-in, breakfast bookings, requests for fresh towels/other items (in place of daily housekeeping), check-out are well organised. Breakfasts were delivered punctually.

This Motel was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds! We enjoyed the spacious deluxe king room with two sink areas. They had a great text system for ordering breakfast the night before. Breakfast was handmade, packed with care and arrived at our door right on time in the morning! We liked the breakfast sandwiches and blueberry scones. The breakfast could be eaten in your room, on the quiet porch or on the go if visiting Acadia National Park! Staff was great and very accommodating!!

Vintage feel with modern amenities. Complimentary breakfast made to order, as well as drinks and snacks. Great location. Could walk to town but were out of the crowds.

Cons: -few restaurant options within walking distance -bathroom on the small size; not comfortable to have more than one person in the room unless one person is in the shower

Positives: -Great location, short drive to Acadia National Park, and bus stop across street from motel for the free shuttle bus to park & downtown Bar Harbor -beds/pillow comfortable -room and bathroom clean and in good shape; heater in bathroom -breakfast delivered to room during available 2 hour window; reasonable food choices (egg/bacon sandwich; bagel; yogurt; oatmeal; fruit) -assigned parking spot right by room -quiet -hotel lobby available with passcode to have free soda (coke, diet coke, ginger ale); microwave popcorn; bottled water; & cookies -more than one towel bar for towels, two shelves for toiletries

The room was a good size for two people. The hot water came on quick. The delivered breakfast is better than the Comfort Inn. There were excellent instructions on how to operate the TV and heater, which made life easy. There were complimentary drinks. The location is a mile outside of Bar Harbor away from its traffic and easy access to Acadia National Park. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Highbrook was a perfect experience and the best place to stay in Bar Harbor because it is just short of downtown and so quiet and tranquil. We were given a room up the hill and it was easy to get to but always felt safe. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. Great bed! Loved the second vanity as that was a life saver to us each morning. The staff is very accommodating without being intrusive and has a very successful system in place for checking in/out and ordering Breakfast and getting new towels. I cannot say enough good things about this property.

Very clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice amenities like ordering breakfast and having it brought to your door, chocolate cookies, hot cider, sodas, popcorn, and water in the office whenever you need it. Close to Acadia National Park entrance for easy, quick entry through back roads too.

Loved all of it. It isn’t fancy, but the owners have paid great attention to every detail. The check in was simple, as was ordering breakfast which arrived at the exact time we had specified.

The room was just as advertised. Very clean. Parking was right in front of our door making it so easy to unload and load the car. Very close to Acadia and the Village of Bar Harbor. The communication with the front desk was easy. We had contactless check- in. The hotel also offers breakfast items which they deliver to your room in the morning and leave on the table outside your door after a gentle knock on the door.

Although the location is close to both the town of Bar Harbor and the Acadia entrance, the mile to downtown Bar Harbor is along a heavily trafficked main road and so we weren’t able to walk out of the motel for a stroll around town. The coffee available from the machine in the room or served with breakfast is mediocre. 

Large well designed comfortable room. We have never before stayed in a hotel where there was no in-person contact with staff. The on-line check in where we were forced to agree to rules seemed very unfriendly, but we soon became accustomed to doing everything (including ordering the breakfast delivered to our room) via text messages. All our questions and requests delivered by text were answered promptly, and if you don’t like waiting on line to speak to a person, this is very efficient.

Super clean, great breakfast and the room comfy. Really nice having the snacks in the office available at anytime. Staff really friendly. Great location to explore Acadia, only 10 mins from Cadillac summit entrance.

The walls were a little thin. But everyone was pretty quiet.

Could have had bigger, nicer bed pillows. Pillows are a little too small.

The hotel is excellent in terms of the room, staff and location The room is very clean and spacious. Nice to have an outdoor table too. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Very nice people. The location is maybe a mile from downtown Bar Harbor. Very convenient! Definitely would recommend.
