Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelWe arrived at night and we had a reservation in advance..and they sold our room..the night manager was nervous and sent us to find a room somewhere else..In the end we returned and the next day they treated us nicely and we also received reasonable compensation... but the story of arriving at night and being given the room to someone else... this has never happened to me In my opinion the breakfast is mediocre minus and not worth the money (in the end we were not charged for it either)
The location is excellent.. the staff is nice.. most of the time.. the room we were in on a high floor was large and spacious 22nd floor

PolandVery good breakfast! Although the explanation that the hotel does not serve cooked breakfast because it is against the law (?) sounds strange, to say the least. Very comfortable bed.

United StatesOur Hotel room had window facing the street so very noisy, cars honking, sirens very loud, garbage trucks clanking all night, so it was hard to sleep. Also our air conditioner was loud and made weird noises.
Hotel was very accessible to Train station, and places we wanted to visit, even Central Park was walkable. Nice neighborhood, lots of restaurants nearby. Lobby very nice and very helpful, friendly staff.

United KingdomNoise outised until ealry hours if windows were of better quality then you would not her this as wiht the noise inside. A nice sofa or couple of lounge chairs to rest on would be a good touch and welcomed in the room
The location was excellent for our needs all be it was qwuite noisy outside due to drain work on the first night which aooeared toi go on until the early hours of the morning!! Bin vans also started very early adn I did ask for a hgh room but sadly did not get this. The room was very clean quite a noce soxe all be it would have been handy to ahve somewhere we could both sit as opposed to just one chair and a desk. The neioghbours were very noisy with lots of doors slammong all hours, may be an idea to ahve some polite signs up reminding ither guests to be considerate of othere guests?

AustriaThe windows are not isolated at all. You can feel the airflow. To achieve a comfortable room temperature the heater needs to run and the air gets very dry. The rooms are also quite noisy, I thought the police car is in my room. The breakfast choices could be better. To me the price-performance is not good but might be normal for NY.

AustraliaThe number of lifts seems low considering the number of hotel rooms, but we didn't have what I'd call an excessive wait for a lift. We arrived after check-in time and the rooms were not ready. One more chair in our room would have allowed both guests staying in a King room to sit at the desk and eat.
The hotel is located conveniently near a subway stop. There are many eating options nearby and multiple shopping options north and south of the hotel. The room sizes are great considering you are in New York City.

CanadaRoom 206 The adjustment for the temperature of the sink's faucet is inadequate. The water is either too cold or too hot, but not warm. The soundproofing of the windows needs to be improved, we heard the outside noise of the heating system.

United Kingdom1) breakfast and restaurant facilities had been affected by an issue that required the hotel to wait for an inspection to re-open. So no restaurant and the breakfast, which we’d paid extra for a breakfast package, was cold only. Though this was out of the hotel’s control, breakfast was quite limited as a result and it was difficult to get a filling breakfast to start our day. If I’d have known prior to booking, I wouldn’t have booked the breakfast package and would have eaten out instead. The breakfast staff were lovely, though, and tried hard to make us welcome. 2) The lifts were a bit of a nightmare, especially at busy times, like in the morning when everyone wanted to leave their rooms for breakfast/checking out. Only 2 lifts for the 24 floors, and lots of times only one was operational. The fact that the cleaning staff used the lifts to move equipment confounded the problem. The worst morning we waited over 20 minutes for a lift from the 23rd floor, which was really frustrating. We shared a lift with one woman who had been trying to check out and subsequently missed her train that day because the lift wasn’t working. Make sure you give plenty of time to get downstairs - no rushing to last orders (cold) breakfast at 9.50am in this hotel!
Central location near to quite a few subway stations so it was really easy to get about the city. Also in walking distance of lots of tourist spots - Empire State Building, Times Square, High Line all within 15 mins walk. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful and were a real highlight of this stay.
