I didn't know that the area of the hotel I stayed in didn't have an elevator. I have a bum leg and that was somewhat of a challenge though the staff was nice about carrying up my suitcase. I didn't like that there was no ice on the second floor where my room was (see no elevator). And why do hotels insist on having extra firm mattresses? Not to mention that they never turn their mattresses so there is always a dent next to the night table! Many of us prefer a squishy bed and would travel more if we were taken into consideration!

It was all about the location. It was where I needed to be. The hotel was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful!

We found the hotel very dark inside but as we weren't there very much it was fine. We do tend to enjoy natural daylight and found the breakfast restaurant, main restaurant/bar and inside areas very dark as they didn't have any windows.

Never having been to Frontenac and only used the hotel as a base for 2 nights at the start of a 2 week holiday to Missouri from the UK (our son is an international student at a university nearby), it was the perfect location for us. The bonus of the pool, free onsite parking and a good restaurant/bar all counted towards exactly what we were looking for at a very reasonable price.

The parking was confusing and a little less convenient than I’d have preferred. Getting to various parts of the property was a bit complicated.

Check in was quick and easy. The building was lovely. We were able to get adjoining rooms.

We stay here each time we come to St Louis to visit family. It’s a well-run, comfortable and clean hotel. Decor is dated but very well maintained and is part of the hotel’s charm, like stepping back to another time!

The furst day we arrived, the front desk staff were ok, no real standouts. The asked if they could put us in a room separate from main building. We declined, obviously. We went to the restaurant to eat, great waiter who was super efficient. After that, all meals were slow and very ineffecient wait staff. Good food though.

our room was reeeeeallllly far from check in, in a whole other building. there was no staff at all in the other building and maybe no other people at all, which was kinda creepy. we had to walk a long way around a ballroom to our room. we did not have enough towels in the room for 4 people but we were so far from the desk it felt crazy to mess with it. unclear if we missed breakfast because nobody told us about it or if there wasn’t any. basically felt like we were in a separate hotel by ourselves which some may enjoy.

We had a room at the front which was large but no fridge! The room was very dark as it only had one small window and we didn’t have a back up toilet roll!

Easy to get to close to shops and highways. Bed comfortable.

the rooms have things that are in disrepair. doors pealing, shower curtains old, rooms are dated and need to be remodeled
