Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only minor issue that we had was the shower in our room sprayed water from a leak in one of the seals and was not usable because it would have water all over the room. But the large Jacuzzi bathtub filled in nicely. I am quite sure this was something that happened recently and went unnoticed by the staff before we checked in the room and I only mention it now so I can let them know.
I really love the architecture and the history associated with the house. Very beautiful colonial style house. Staff who I am assuming were the owner's children were very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. With the exception of the minor issue with the shower the Venetian room was great, very nicely decorated the bed was really comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was really nice as well. Only regret I had was that I didn't actually Get to meet the owners to thank them for a wonderful stay, oh well maybe next time and we definitely will be back. Don't pay any attention to the negative reviews either, this place deserves none of those.

United StatesI did not like the manner in which the OWNER spoke with me by phone when I called for help to locate the property. He needs to learn customer service help/assistance and tonality!! (speaking from someone in CS for almost 40 years in business) He should have been able to say - from I 12 go north on 51. you'll need to turn RIGHT at OLD COVINGTON RD. A "Capital One Bank" will be on the left (giving markings). Go down to the 3rd St (should be S. Holly) turn LEFT. OR EVEN PUT THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WEBPAGE WITH INFORMATION OF IT BEING DIFFICULT TO SEE SIGNS AFTER DARK. At one point, he told me "lady, I don't know what to tell you!" the streets were dark and it was difficult seeing the S.Holly street sign at night. Once I arrived, I did not like NOT KNOWING where to go or what to do to "CHECK IN" - there were no signs. Again, the owner told me I needed to move my car before I was able to unload my things. When I explained I had those things, he allowed me to unload at the door entry -go to the back to park my car - then walk back up to the location to go in. I did not like finding a hair in my complimentary breakfast the next morning. I did not like some kind of foam pieces on the corner of the desk when I needed to sit there and map out the location to which I was leaving this INN to go to in Ponchatoula. There was no offer of any compensation for the cost of my room especially after finding a HAIR IN MY FOOD!!! I hope this was an isolated incident but the issues with this place enlarged by frustration of being on this trip (after being in rain coming out of Houston, TX and much construction between Houston and LA line).
I loved the property! The home/Inn IS beautiful!

United StatesThe beds and pillows were hard and not comfortable. The grounds were dirty, with trash and tools laying around. The drain of the Jacuzzi was broken. We called for assistance but were not able to speak to anyone, so spent about 15-20 minutes fixing it. Someone called us back the next day and we explained. There was no apology or offer of assistance, they just said they were "glad we figured it out." Breakfast was another poor experience. We were given a couple options, but were disappointed. My husband's fried eggs were dirty, and my scrambled eggs were burnt. The croissants were dry and hard. The meal was essentially uneatable, so we went into town to buy breakfast.
It's a lovely house, but not nearly as nice as the pictures make it seem the room was spacious and nicely decorated.

United StatesNo a/c in hot summer(would not get cool): Our room was very uncomfortable from the heat. We called for a fan, and no one arrived. We barely slept. Breakfast: I do wish they didn't have a set meal. I have a food allergy to peppers and didn't expect breakfast to one meal fits all.😞 Even cereal with toast would have been a great second option.
It was beautiful. We loved everything about this place. Staff was friendly. Clean. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our room was on the balcony. Even though we were so close to the railroad tracks; we didn't hear a thing.

United StatesThe house smelled musty. I've stayed in centuries old buildings in Europe and they did not smell badly. This house smelled of mildew. The room was not exceptionally clean. The ceiling fan had lots of dust the molding above the doors was filthy and the AC vents were dirty as well. As I am allergic to dust and mold I noticed.
The young man, Jack, was friendly.

United StatesOur bed was excruciatingly hard to sleep on. The sheets were very nice, the memory pillows were equally comfortable. Unfortunately, the bed has a huge, I don't know if lump is the correct term here, but suffice it to say, it was large and ran through the middle of the bed. It hit me at my stomach, my wife in her back, or her side. If you laid on your back, with your head level, big hump, and feet lowered over the hump you might get an idea. Imagine the "Kilroy was here" meme, and you will see what I mean. The other reason we picked this place was all of the reviews about how good the breakfast was. We were very much looking forward to the amazing breakfast that was in the pictures. Alas, no, scrambled eggs, cold undercooked home fries, and a cold croissant. I understand that staffing has become an issue across the nation. We all have to be understanding about staffing issues. We just would have appreciated a note on the listing that due to staffing issues, breakfast would be simple. I don't know what the other beds are like, and we didn't stay in a cabin, so I can not speak to those. I imagine they are all wonderful. It may just be the Evangeline room.
The house is beautiful. I am sure there is a lot of history to be discovered here. We only stayed overnight, so we didn't get a chance to explore. The staff, the two we met, were very sweet and helped us get our bags up and down the stairs. The bathroom was very nice. The room was nice as well. I wish we had had more time to explore. We both have degrees in history, and it is one of the reasons we picked this lodging.

United StatesUnfortunately, I was not satisfied with my stay at the inn. Check in was supposed to start at 3pm yesterday but our room wasn't ready until 3:45pm which really put us behind in trying to get to our event that we were in town for. Then trying out the jacuzzi bathtub last night, there was grass, seeds, dead bugs and what appeared to be mold appearing when I attempted to fill the tub. I emptied the tub and washed everything hoping that this was just a fluke incident. I was wrong. The same exact thing occurred when I attempted to start filing the tub again. I was not able to enjoy this feature what so ever. Another complaint I do have is this morning I was awakened by complete conversations being had in the cottage beside mine. This should be completely unacceptable. Overall I would give my stay at the Michabelle Inn a 2 star, and sadly do not see myself returning for another stay.
The location was nice considering the event we were attending.

United StatesALL OF IT...This was my first time in Hammond LA. I should have stayed at the Hoilday Inn next time I will know better. I love B&B's but this is not worth the money spent.
The breakfast was awful, scrambled eggs, frozen potatoes and cold sausage and the worst of it was nothing was homemade croissants cold and cut in half. A B&B is supposed to be elegant; the furniture was coming apart and not a chair to sit in. $160 a night what a shame.

United StatesCheck -in was to be between 3:00 & 6:00 pm, with the admonition that if you were not there to check-in you could not get in and would basically need to stay elsewhere and forfeit that nights charge. We arrived for check-in at approximately 3:10pm. There was no one at the facility except for a lawn care person who could not help us. I called the phone number on the door and the "Manager" sent someone who had been somewhere else on the property who let us into the house and gave the room key... however, the room was not ready and we waited approximately 45 minutes before it was. After waiting for approximately 30 minutes the "Manager" passed by and said the room should be ready soon... when I asked why it was taking so long, he replied "we are short a staff member and we have a wedding at 5:00". The he very sarcastically stated to me... " In case you haven't heard, there's a shortage of employees". For this to be a B&B... the breakfast and service the first morning there was not good, the sausage was dry and overcooked, the cubed potatoes had peppers and onions in them, that were overcooked and the scrambled eggs were filled with an overabundance of egg whites and appeared to be shredded rather than scrambled. There was no toast or or bread offering. The rooms were musty and in need of airing out as well as some repairs inside and out. Several pieces of furniture that I saw in the home were ragged with the upholstery coming off, and chair legs with cracks that could have easily been repaired. There was one trash can in the room, no blanket, no bathroom heater and no We were given little to no information at our so-called check-in and had to ask the only housekeeper there some basic questions in regards to the room, amenities, etc.
The one and only housekeeper at the time was a helpful woman named Alexis. She was the only person that helped by answering our questions after our arrival.

United StatesIt states that check in starts at 3 p.m. However, when I arrived at 3:45 the room was not ready. The person that checked me in was very nice and apologized. She said that the room would be ready in thirty minutes. I proceeded to sit in my car and wait on the room to be ready. After sitting in my car for about twenty minutes, the housekeeper showed up finally with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth with my clean linens in her hands. This upset me because I am allergic to cigarette smoke. When I called the front desk, a man answered and asked me what I wanted him to do? I was appalled that he said that. I explained about the late check in etc, and he seemed to not care at all. After waiting almost two hours, the room was finally clean and we settled in. It was beautiful and clean. However, when we got into the jacuzzi tub, only half the jets worked. I did not bother to call because I know that would have done nothing. Horrible guest services.
The room was pretty and the walkway to the room was beautiful. We also enjoyed the breakfast.
