My biggest complaint was some noise that I could hear through the pipes and walls in the bathroom. My guess is that the laundry area was located beneath me and it was the machines that were causing a constant rumbling and rattling noise periodically. I was able to sleep fine as it never happen much past 10 pm. Two of the workout machines (treadmill and stepper) didn't work. Plus, the fitness room is tiny.

The room was clean and well prepared for me to stay there. I had my dog with me and both beds were plenty of space to relax. The fridge was huge help as I had groceries to compliment my week staying there. It wasn't crowded much of the week except Monday, so it was fairly quiet. There was an Future Farmers of America event going on in town and the kids were staying there. They got a little loud at times, but not terribly late. I got some breakfast there at the hotel restaurant the morning I was checking out. I never really did see anyone in the restaurant area, so I was a hesitant to try it, thinking food might not be that fresh. But, it turned out to be really good. The eggs, sausage, and potatoes were great and well prepared. Priced reasonable. Maybe a little cheaper than going to the Iowastater nearby in the adjacent hotel.

The remote to the tv didn’t work and the only way to fix it was to switch rooms which we did. The faucet hot/cold were reversed in the second room we went to.

I'm a stickler for in-room entertainment and I found that the television was a bit outdated and small in screen size. Not a dealbreaker but something that can be improved upon.

The location is ideal and easily accessible from the highway. Front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming on my arrival and clearly explained all the amenities and features available to me during my stay. Ample parking on site and there are a few good restaurants just a few minutes away.

The original room assignment had not been cleaned. The staff promptly gave us a new room once reported.

The king sized bed was very comfortable. The location is perfect for quick access to the university and downtown Ames. I have tried other hotels in Ames, but keep coming back.

The whole hotel had a strange smell, but maybe that’s just a Iowa. There was a water bottle in my room that was not cleaned up when I got there and also toenail clippings what was on the bed and that was NOT ok but everything else was excellent 

Everyone was very welcoming and very nice. The rooms looked very nice and very clean. It had easy parking and it was in a great location very close to the ISU campus.

The fact that they don't have a complimentary breakfast is a big hit. The vast majority of mid-priced or budget hotel have a breakfast. It is something I really look for when I have to stay multiple days. The restaurant they said that was on site didn't ever seem to be occupied. Not sure if I just had to wave down kitchen staff to get food, but luckily there were plenty of place around to get food.

I needed the room for a single night as I was coming in from Omaha to take my dog to the ISU vet center the following day. Didn't get to take advantage of too much in the hotel such as the pool or fitness center.

I didn't like the fact the there was no complimentary breakfast. Other cheaper hotels even had that. They said they had a restaurant, but it never seemed to be manned by anyone. Luckily, there were plenty of breakfast places nearby that I could walk to. Unfortunately, I had to book this hotel last minute during the week of college move in, so the prices were inflated.

The location was a great asset. I was staying there with my dog while he was admitted to the ISU vet hospital. Allowing dogs was the main reason for my stay. The rooms were clean, the fitness center was a nice amenity, and the pool was relaxing. The beds were fairly comfortable. I didn't have any issues sleeping.

The breakfast could be included with the price of the room. If not, as it is now, then I feel as though the rooms should have bigger refrigerators or options for guests to cook and hold more food along with dishes.

The staff! There are not enough words to describe their hearts, generosity, kindness, and smiles. Every single one of them that work at this location deserve a raise because they are making that hotel have the rating it does!

Not enough towels in the room and they couldn’t find more for us. Not even enough for each person staying in our room. The water was cold, really cold. No water pressure in the sink or shower. Chipped and broken tiles in the bathroom. Our putside window was off the roof and then a wall. Couldn’t even see the sky or ground. Pool was cold.

The location was great and convenient for the activities we had planned.

Staff was not as friendly as other properties, they were not rude just not very interactive. Would have been nice if sidewalks were shoveled and parking lot plowed but it’s winter in the Midwest so we made due.
