We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe hotel lost power the night of 12/23/22 due to a storm. There is no generator, so we were forced to leave the hotel the morning of 12/24 and stay with family members that night. We received nothing but shoulder shrugs at the front desk from the teenage hotel staff as to when power might be back on, nor were they optimistic about us getting refunded for the night we didn't ( couldn't with no heat ) stay. We were on the second floor in an ADA accessible room- thankfully we were able to take the stairs, Still it was unsafe as there were insufficient lights in the stairwell.
This hotel is our usual place to stay while visiting family. It's clean, comfortable and close by.

United States1. Very expensive for a Holiday Inn Express in Canandaigua. Unreasonably expensive, particularly given the items below. 2. I am a Hilton Honors member and the front desk would not enter my Hilton Honors number. Yes, I booked through a third-party vendor (booking.com), but I've been to plenty of other hotels that were happy to enter my HH number even though I booked through booking.com. 3. The first room we got very noticeably smelled like smoke. The cleaning people HAD to notice it. The person at the front desk promptly gave us a new room. 4. The second room did not smell like smoke, but the non-carpeted entrance and bath room floors were VERY sticky. I was told later that it was the anti-COVID cleaning spray or such. We asked the front desk to have someone come up and mop the floor and they said it could not be done then but they would have it done the next day. It was never mopped. 5. Breakfast ... every day it was out of coffee when we went to breakfast. Plenty of other items were out as well. I certainly understand that food gets eaten and coffee gets drunk, etc. But it was very clear that there was only one person who was responsible for covering both the front desk AND the breakfast area. My usual experience with a HIE is that they are very good about covering the breakfast, so this was a surprise. 6. Before we left, on our first full day, we asked that the floor be mopped (as was discussed the previous night) when the cleaning people came through, and that we get some new towels. When we returned, that afternoon, nothing had been done in the room. When I went downstairs to talk to the manager at the front desk, she said that the rooms were not cleaned unless specifically requested. While I did not expressly request that the room be cleaned, I did ask that it be mopped, etc., but nothing was done.
I needed a hotel in Canandaigua that was less expensive than the Lake House. This was pretty much it. The A/C in the room worked well, which was a minimum expectation. The hotel was conveniently located across the street from a Wegman's, which was necessary at times. -------------- continued from what I did not like (ran out of room) 7. Room still was not mopped as requested. 8. After our stay, I received a survey, etc. from HIE and I gave similar comments. There was a prompt asking if I would like someone from HIE to contact. I said YES. It has been almost a month and no one from HIE has reached out to me. 9. Bottom line, I've always had a very good experience at HIE ... except at this particular hotel. Very disappointing.

United StatesI did not like how I booked, and paid, in advance for my stay. A few months later I added another day and asked them to charge my card so it would be paid for in advance. Well they did not so when we went 4th of July weekend, we were charged a higher rate, rather than 6months prior to me calling and adding another day! So I feel like I was scammed into paying a lot more than I would/should have.
Overall the experience was fair. The staff were nice, the hotel was clean, and the breakfast was fair.
