How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Check-in was terrible! Fourteen of us in our party and they made everyone wait until exactly 4 PM to check in. Plus there were other guests waiting. It took far too long to get everyone checked in. I'm sure some rooms were already cleaned before 4 PM but NO ONE was allowed to check in before that. Totally unacceptable.
Morning staff was very helpful.

Value for money, $240 a night was a lot considering it’s an old motel which hadn’t been remodels in years. Staff could have told us that in the park, most roads are closed atm. Not a lot of seating options for breakfast.
Great breakfast options, close to the park and decent pool / laundry facilities. Rooms were big and slept well. Highly recommend the pizza place 4 min walk from the resort

all the birds we rented a car to travel in and had to stop and wash it before turning it back in.

It looked as though the bedsheets had not been changed as there was hair, a fair amount of specs hiding at the foot of the bed when the covers were pulled all the way open, as well as a few small cream coloured bits which I could not identify and was nervous about them being bed bug eggs, however I have not seen any in real life and I really cannot say if they were or something else. I’m sure if we told the staff they would have been able to assist us, however as we arrived very late at night after a whole day driving and were keen to sleep asap, and were only staying for 1 night, we decided to sleep on top of the blanket instead as the top and the pillows appeared all clean. Everything else in the room was surprisingly very clean, only the bedsheets! Other than this it was a lovely stay.
Amazing location for visiting Sequoia National Park! It was really helpful to have the 24 hour front desk as our drive to the hotel took a lot longer than expected and we arrived quite late in the night. Complimentary breakfast was enjoyable. Plenty of car parks available. In our room, everything was very clean, except for the bed sheets.

Breakfast room becomes too crowded. Everything is plastic and single use, and this creates a lot of waste. It was kind of disturbing to see.
Convenient and close to the park entrance. The room was spacious and bathroom was ok. Microwave in the room was useful.

We had to leave early and although breakfast was included there was no possibility to have breakfast on the go.
Good location, close to the national park entry, room good for one night; for more, the room would be too small (we were 5). We didn't have time to enjoy the swimming pool area.

The staff is overwhelmed. Need more personnel in the front. The air conditioner didn’t work. The room was very hot.

During our stay, breakfast was understaffed, which was unfair for the one lady who had the impossible task of cooking, cleaning and replenishing all the food and drink. Hotel reception could be friendlier and more welcoming but in light of the understaffing, I can understand why.
Spacious rooms, comfortable beds (be forewarned shorter people: the beds are very high), sitting area with extra sink. Request for extra bedding was immediately fulfilled
