Furniture in the big room (king and queen beds) is a little worn. But still everything is in working order and very clean.

It’s a very charming hotel that’s been kept up really well. Staff is wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.

No tiny fridge/microwave made us order less at restaurant downstairs no way to safely keep/reheat. Missed opportunity to capitalize on the restaurant by offering some sort of room service; even limited menu & hours would go a long way to add to the luxury feel.

Visited for New Years Eve Prohibition event. It was probably the best New Years experience we've had. Encouraging patreons to join staff by dressing in era appropriate clothes created an authentic feel. Dinner was lovely. Drinks in the Copper Room made the evening perfect! The musicians & singers were great to listen to all night. Normally we would never go out on New Years. Many public events in Sacramento (where we live) aren't even safe to attend anymore. Drunk unruly crowds have led to more than one shooting in Old Sacramento (very similar historical town). It's sad when we have an equally cool spot in our own backyard yet it is too dangerous to enjoy. Sutter was safe, not overly crowded, no obnoxious intoxicated people. Just a relaxing & enjoyable experience. We will be making the drive to visit in the future. Well worth traveling for.

Window won't stay open and was heavy to lift. Wouldn't want to use it to escape.

Nice breakfast, but there are also excellent options within a short stroll. Restaurants is very good. Has a cozy bar.

Would prefer that all carpets (rooms, hallways, staircases) be replaced with wood or laminate floors. Would be cleaner and healthier.

Room and bed is comfortable, the bathroom was recently renovated and pleasant to use. Nice, lively ambiance in the evening but quiet at night.

The recent cancellation of serving breakfast in the dining room or balcony is a huge mistake. Lunch not brunch is offered starting at 10am. Very disappointing. We were told the hotel is under new management.

It would have been helpful if the staff knew the address, knew that they had extra toothbrushes, and remembered who ordered food and what their room number was. These people were pleasant and accommodating, however, I missed having my food delivered and getting a toothbrush.

The bed was super comfortable and the room was charming. Shower was fabulous.

The hotel is very, very old. It does have updated plumbing and bath fixtures. Lighting in the room and bath are okay, but not good. In the bath, for example, you would not want to do elaborate makeup. It is difficult and expensive to maintain such an old building. The place is not slick and modern. We have no complaints, but we were aware of the effort and expense it takes to maintain the place, and that the room price reflects that. We plan to stay there again.

Comfortable bed. Adequate storage to unpack luggage into. Good restaurant in the hotel. Staff were very attentive and friendly. While they say breakfast is not included, they did have a few pastries and coffee available gratis in the morning before the restaurant opened. Restaurant opens at 10. We went to Sutter Creek for the ragtime festival. Staying in that hotel was in the center of town and perfect for us.

Not much to complain about, other than some muffled scratching noises from within the walls, which sounded like a rodent scurrying about throughout the night. Might wanna have that checked out.

We were only there for a night and settled for one of the smaller room. It was clean and confortable, it had a nice clean shower (no bath). The room itself was a bit small (with a double) which was not unexpected at that price point, but if I was booking again, I would probably try to get a slightly larger and pricier room. I have to say that Cole from the front desk service who did our check in was very friendly and offered us some great dining and wine tasting recommendations.

Horrible drink ordering process in bar!!!!

Great location and history. Excellent hotel service (bar service was not good from lady bartender, she ignored me for 20 minutes, never filled my drink order, the male bartender finally helped.
