The process to get access was far too complicated. Multiple emails and an eventual phone call was required to get in.

The location was awesome. Close to everything downtown meaning no need for public transport.

No instructions on how to operate certain appliances, no normal kettle, so couldn't make coffee due to not knowing how to operate the coffee machine. TV hardly plays any of the channels, and the TV is not a smart TV so you can't login to streaming apps.

The heat was not working and sufficient efforts were not made to rectify it, so I spent a week cold. The shower door was broken by a prior renter and no steps were made to rectify it. I had to clean water up everyday.

The apartment, in particular the bathrooms, could have been better cleaned. There is not a second bedroom, as the murphy bed is in the kitchen area with only a curtain as separation. To access the sofa bed area there is a spiral stair, which is not easy to use with big suitcases. The sofa beds coould be more confortable.

The apartment is new, quite spacious and in a very good position for downtown LA. The sofa bed area is spacious and with a dedicated bathroom, so it is very convenient to share the apartment with friends. The terrace is very beautiful.

Reservation paperwork was quite a burden, and the area was somewhat tricky, but all in all, I was happy to stay there.

Both of the pull out couches were broken and couldn’t be used as a bed. Towel bars broken. Super strong smell of dope from one of the neighbors.

We parked in the lot next-door which was extremely expensive, I had seen information before our arrival about a $15 parking per night, but it was actually almost triple that. Other small but important details: only 1 serving of coffee even though our stay was two days, plus who doesn’t love coffee at night, this is like the minimum a host can do, provide coffee, it’s cheap and makes a guest feel welcomed. The second bedroom was actually a pull out bed in the downstairs living room with only half of the surrounding curtain. This actually worked out ok for our teens, but the information was misleading and had we actually needed two bedrooms we would’ve been SOL.

location: The location was a ideal with restaurants close by, CVS, all within walking distance. The actual apartment is very beautiful and incredibly spacious.

A couple of small things need checking. The bathroom fan is permanently on which is fine but it’s very loud, particularly at night. The ironing board needs attention.

I thought the location was okay, not great. Also I thought the room smelled kind of weird, couldn't really put my finger on it. That's it though!

I thought the check-in/check-out process was smooth. I thought the apartment had nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Linens were clean. Wifi was easy to use.

Leaks, bad smells/odors in elevator and loud guest.

The loft itself was very nice. We stayed on the 3rd floor. They provided plates, cups utensils ect. I absolutely love the loft. There is plenty of areas outside down to street to have a cigarette or other. Where people where going for morning jogs or walking their dogs so you don’t feel scared of out of place. Of course it’s dt so there are the homeless but in all honesty we had no bad encounters with the community what so ever. It’s was very well kept and clean, minus one little bugger that wanted to escape the outside. And there was damages done prior to our arrival that I of course photographed and sent to management. The other guest above us however were loud all through out the night. Sounded as if they were having some sort of party all night. The hallway and elevator smelled of weed, wet mop and body odor. There was a huge leak coming from the first floor down into the lobby. My daughter and I both almost slipped. I was over charged for the damage deposit. Staff was a bit difficult. But I’d like to thank Jim for assisting us with our issues that occurred. Other than that it was a great stay.

Abode requires you to go through a long series of verification steps that make you feel very uncomfortable. You have to provide photos not only of your identification and your self holding your ID but also photos of the exact test deposit they send to your credit card or bank account, and they ask you for pictures of your credit card as well. The perfect mix for someone who is ready to lose their identity online.

Booking the place to stay was an absolute nightmare. It was easier buying a car online than it was going through all the secondary steps this place had to stay at their apartment. I will never choose this option again. I would have been better off booking through Airbnb or staying at a hotel instead.

There were a number of issues with the property. Firstly, the rental process is so incredibly excessive compared to just booking a hotel/Airbnb for a similar price (I had to take photos of myself with my id etc) there was also a deposit of $500 which is extortionate and was not clear enough upon booking. The apartment itself was clean but also super damaged. Furniture was broken as well as light switches (which is just plain dangerous). With the price of the deposit this meant I spent the first 20 minutes after arrival taking photos of all the damage. The location was good in terms of what is around but might not be the safest. Two people in our group came back one evening saying a man had approached them with a machete, obviously this isn’t the listers fault but just worth mentioning if you are planning on staying with children.

The property was clean and had amenities.
