Upon checking in, the person at the front desk was preoccupied on his phone with an earbud in his ear. As a guest I needed to initiate the welcome and mention that I needed to check in. When he asked for my for ID and card for incidentals, he took an extremely long observing my drivers license… giving me a creepy vibe in how long he took to “take a look” at it. Then he forgot to ask about my parking needs. But I came back in to inquire. Even then, he couldn’t give me adequate information the first time around regarding parking details. The weird part of the whole check-in experience was how extremely thorough he was about when breakfast was served and when the gym and pool were open — all of which information was printed into a small card which he attached to my room key envelope. Talk about redundancy and yet also a complete lack of being thorough by my needing to go back to check about parking.

Good location, value for the stay and roominess of the room was convenient.

The 'included' breakfast (midweek morning) was desultory and substandard - had some bacon and a pancake and a bit of toast: The bacon is paper thin and baked(?) so bacon-y in flavor but lacking substance (shatters with a fork, so it is only readily edible if picked up by hand) and the pancake was so dried out it had seriously chewy edges. Yuck! Just up the road is Ritter's Diner - a local institution since the '50s - will walk the block to that in the future I think. There are NO in-room safes which is very unusual for a big city hotel these days.

I like the Eurostyle rooms with the big walk-in showers. Always clean. Bathroom illumination is very good for doing makeup. The location is good if you have a car to get to most things and parking charges are OK. Ate a small plate at the bar. It was freshly prepared by the bartender (who must disappear for a moment to create) and was very tasty, as was my martini. Bartender was convivial and happy to chat when not busy (I have found this on previous stays too with at least two other bartenders). So if traveling solo on business that's a plus. Short drive to some good restaurants, if you do go out.

Some of the rooms around us were pretty noisy. Thankfully, this didn't impede on our visit but I've been to other hotels with better sound blocking in place. The pool could use some updating/paint touch ups. No additional sheets nor pillows in the room. I also found it odd that the king bed had normal sized pillows on it, but they were comfy enough.

The room was very modern and clean. It was spacious enough to accommodate my daughter's wheelchair. It was also large enough for the family to be able to spread out and not feel on top of each other. There was plenty of storage for our family of three.
