Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAir conditioning didn’t work in our room. No one came to fix it. Since it was a little cold we were okay but having the AC working would have been great.

Very convenient location. Ability to hold bags if you arrive prior to your room being ready or after checkout so that you can sightsee. Buffet style breakfast was good. Friendly staff!

ItalyThe room was very small, with sofa-bed open there was basically no room left to walk. Breakfast was very basic.
Great position in times Square area, walking distance from Penn Station and Hudson Yards. The room was silent, we weren't disturbed by noise frome the street or neighbors.

United StatesThe breakfast was fine but there were a lot of people who either weren’t eating and taking up the tables or others who were finished and lingered at the tables leaving few places to sit. We ended up eating our breakfast in our room.

CanadaThe room is a bit small. After we pulled out the sofa bed for our son, there was hardly any space left in the room. Felt the room was not bigger than the cabin we stayed for 11 nights during our cruise prior to our stay at Hyatt. But this is totally understandable, given the prime location of the hotel. Also, the room size would be quite okay if it's just for two people. However, it took us quite some time to accept the small water flow from the sink faucet. It was so small that I was positive the faucet got dirty and the filter was blocked. But the front desk acted swiftly and a plumber was sent up, he turned it on and told us blandly and briefly it was totally normal and took off - as if the usual water flow we get everywhere else were just our whimsical, pampered imagination. It was not an easy task for me to wash our clothes every night with such a small water flow.
The best thing is its location - it's very convenient to get to all the attractions we wanted to go to, quite some on foot, and others by subway or bus. Loved being able to walk to Times Square twice, Empire State Building, Hudson Yards Edge, Bryant Park and so on. We were also happy to find out that we could take the Airport Express bus not far from the hotel directly to Newark Liberty International Airport. Second, the staff was very friendly and ready to help whenever asked. The room was kept clean daily. Third, the breakfast actually exceeded our expectations with a lot of fruit and quite some varieties. We also loved the icemaker and ice water provided on each floor and the hot water available 24 hours on the first floor for making tea and hot chocolate.

CanadaFree breakfast is great for people who can eat eggs and dairy. I was limited to some fruit and potatoes. I’m truly blown away that at a price of ~$480+ a night, a free bottle of water isn’t included in the room. Seeing a $0.25 water bottle in the room costs $6 per bottle after the price to stay there was a shock. The room and bathroom are incredibly small. I accidentally left a sweater on the bed when I checked out, but hotel staff says they haven’t been able to locate it.
The bed and pillows were really comfortable. On site bar/restaurant was nice. I arrived at happy hour and enjoyed a margarita, wings, and Parmesan fries.

CanadaWe liked everything. Maybe to be picky, newer carpets would be nicer, but they were clean and no problem.
Very nice helpful staff, room though small (typical NY) was comfortable and completely clean, beds and pillows great. Location is great and very convenient to Times Square, lots of cheaper eats and delis on 9th street, parking in Port Authority is the best IMO. Room over 12 floor had nice view.

United StatesHow small the rooms were or the fact that you couldn't have a microwave inside your room. The photo I submitted is literally from the front door of the room.
I liked that it was not far from the hubbub of times square. The breakfast was amazing every morning. The staff of check-in and check out were super pleasant and very nice.

Excellent location. Closer to Time Square and NYC Bus Terminal and all restaurants etc. Good breakfast. Excellent support from the front office staff. Very friendly and supportive. Assisted us with late check-out, luggage keep till our departure after checking-out, loading to taxi, arranging tours.
