How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The photos at the time were not the same as the website. The site had stock photos that we weren’t aware of. It ended up being apartment buildings turned hotel.
The owner was very sweet. Comfy beds. Smart TV!

Cleanliness and facilities very basic but I was delighted with the king size bed and hot shower.
The staff were amazing - lovely people who were really welcoming and helpful. Seems to be a quirky conversion of an old industrial building but that added to the charm !

The room was nice and spacious and the beds were so comfy. We loved the mattresses and pillows and there were crisp white duvets as well. We arrived late right and it was sold out and I asked if there were any places open (it was 10:40 pm) where I could get food and he offered me bagels, yogurt, bananas, granola bars and apples for my family. He went above and beyond. I highly recommend this place.

Breakfast on day one was great. Day 2 when many had left, was just ok. Service was outstanding Booking.com reservation never came through, but he still took care of us and beat the peice

It was a challenge to find, but well worth the effort!
Incredibly helpful and friendly front desk clerk. Very accommodating. Outstanding service. Cleverly hidden on a decommissioned air force base. Great to see the old buildings repurposed.

A bit off the beaten path, but with GPS we found it OK. It's very basic mom and pop accommodation which may not suit some people. The hot water for the shower took a while...maybe 4-5 minutes, but once it was there it was good. Kitchenette water was hot right away.
Our stay with the huge throng of eclipse chasers was excellent. The staff was a little overwhelmed at check-in but they managed very well given the circumstances. Our room was clean, quiet and really met our expectations just fine. Breakfast was a little chaotic on eclipse day, better the day after. The staff was really nice, there was nothing else they could have done to make it better. Our room was good, beds comfy and even the air/heat combo worked well. Nice big TV but didn't have cable or have local channels. Not a big deal but something others may want to note. Liked having the kitchenette and fridge.

Heard a dog barking occasionally, maybe better insulation or no pets. Building was a little dirty around the hallways, could be cleaner. Small things that don't necessarily bother me, I would still stay here again.
Hotel location is in a quiet area of the town. Clean and quiet room. Lots of space inside the room. Lots of parking outside and around the building. Great breakfast included. Great deal.

It's a little off the highway but worth it.
The room was very large, the bed was super comfy, the hot breakfast was wonderful, the staff was great!!! The TV was huge, maybe a 72?!!!! It was super cool to stay in a building that was originally built for family members to come visit their family members that are in the service. And, the price was great!!! Not a fancy place, but super clean.

Only complaint is it does take the hot water more than 5 min to warm or heat up. But, once it's going it its nice. Showers had great water pressure!
Absolutely loved everything about this place. We stayed for a week. Great Staff! Accommodated us with everything we asked for and needed in our room. Wonderful hot and cold free breakfast. Security is great. We got in late and staff gave us instructions on what to do for our check in to go smooth. Beds were nice and soft! Room was of good size with a walkin closet. Bathrooms nice and clean. Will absolutely stay again and recommend it to everyone. Food places and shopping near by also.

It’s an old refurbished Air Force building that was fixed up on a budget. Fairly priced though.
The price was great. The bed was very comfortable! I was taking a group of students so our budget was limited. We had an issue with our 1st room with cleanliness but the staff quickly attended to it and moved us. Breakfast was good and the room was well appointed.

If you are looking out for a clean and comfortable facility without the fancy of star hotels this is an excellent place for family
The staff make you feel at home. The facility is clean. Suites are big. Breakfast and facilities were open through the day. Amazing service for the price you pay. Don’t find such a service in most of known star hotels. Close to UIUC too.

Very close to University Of Illinois, this property has history it’s on the old Chanute Air Force Base!

Old military base off the beaten path was a bit odd, but quiet.
Staff were amazing, accommodating, and very friendly! Room recently remodeled and fresh. Had a very peaceful and comfortable night. I would stay here again.

Nothing, they helped me out with my issue and didnt make it a problem. I really appreciated them and how easy it was to reach them. Its very hard to find a business that cares about their clients.
