Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe beds were not the standard Queen size but two full size beds. The rooftop restaurant provided a lot of traffic in the evenings. We were next to a employee closet and the door closed loudly throughout the night.
The location of the hotel is great. It was right next to the waterfront. Many restaurants and close to train station. Thank you.

United StatesThe rooms are kind of tiny and there are really no drawers for your clothes. I like to unpack. The steamer was a little awkward to use but it worked. It would be helpful to have hooks on the doors to hang a toiletries bag on.
I love the music played in the lobby, restaurant and rooftop bar. The food in the rooftop bar was delicious and the staff was great all around.

United KingdomI missed the hotel when I first walked by as the lights are dimmed at night and it looked closed. Check in was not as smooth as I would have hoped. I waited over 10 minutes to get checked in (no one at the desk, though they were informed by colleagues but needed to complete other tasks in the back). Not ideal after an 8 hour flight and 1 hour train ride from the airport. I had an issue with the payment and looked for another card (30 seconds) but the concierge was ready to check in the people who had arrived after me. All sorted in the end. I also wasn't told that I needed my key card to select my floor - luckily staff already in the elevator informed me. This experience in an exception in what was overall a really great stay with fantastic staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and the restaurant.
The location was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel. The hotel is within walking distance (5 min or less) of several subway stations and close the East River. Beautiful sunrise views over the Brooklyn Bridge just a few steps away from the hotel! Close proximity to a pharmacy, and many restaurants. Great experience.

GermanyThe only thing was that the rooms weren't dusted that often. It was our fault however that we didn't say sooner and just suffered near the end with the dust. The thing is when you are in New York you are mostly spending time outside.
The staff was really friendly, you felt really welcome every time you entered the lobby. The location was also really nice, the subway was just up the road and a stone's throw away from the water where you could see Brooklyn Bridge and the skyline. The rooftop bar is also nice!

United KingdomRoom was a bit small to accommodate the two big suitcases we had which meant that we could only open one suitcase at a time on the floor. We managed though but it was a bit of an inconvenience which meant we had to put as many clothes into the wardrobe to avoid the hassle of getting in and out of the suitcases. Our room didn't face the street as we asked for a quiet room a few floors up from groin level. Unfortunately the room we got faced another building close by which meant that there was poor natural light. We do intend on revisiting the hotel again, so we will choose a room that faces the front for better natural right. We added breakfast to our booking and we got vouchers to use daily. It would have been nice to have additional toast slices to what was on the menu without having to pay. Some dishes only came with one slice of toast and that was not enough in some situations. We enjoyed the breakfast options though. It would have been nice if the cooked breakfast meals came with baked beans as an option.. Something for you to consider adding. It would have been nice to be able to get more than one soft drink without having to pay extra.

Only light in bathroom was bright. Coffee maker and refrigerator in a closet. Difficult to read instructions for coffee maker.
Location was great. Easy access to great restaurants, taxis, very and walking distance sites. Restaurant food was good except for the coffee. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone that we met was nice. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. TV remote was easy to use.
