Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI really liked the postcard that was provided in the info packet in my room. I asked the front desk customer service representative if I could have another, and not only was she unfamiliar with the item, I am not sure she knew what a postcard was. I asked if maybe it was on the housekeeping cart, but she never followed up. No biggie.
Location was fine. I ate very lightly: a spoonful of scrambled eggs, a banana, orange and apple juice mixed, and a small portion of oatmeal with all the toppings the first day; on the second day, orange juice, a banana and wheat toast with cream cheese and jelly, plus a yogurt for the road. So many of the selections are starchy and sugary, but I guess that’s top on the list for so many people in our country. I suppose I would have liked more protein options (even the Jif peanut butter is overly sweetened) and a breakfast veggie or two, but even so, it was a good spread. The last place I stayed ( also owned by Hilton) had a bowl of granola bars and some boxes of apple juice for their “grab and go” breakfast offering. By comparison, Hampton Inn provided a veritable feast.

United StatesMy refrigerator didn’t work. I wasn’t advised of this when I checked in and I reported it when I checked out. The freezer didn’t freeze my ice packs for my cooler. The tray under the freezer area was full of water and spilled in the refrigerator. In a follow-up phone call I was told the freezer isn’t designed to fully freeze ice packs and that the unit works as it should. There needs to be more low-carb options for breakfast. In addition to egg and cheese omelettes, it would have been nice to have hard boiled eggs, and a variety of meat and cheese slices instead of only waffles, syrup and oatmeal.
I liked the size of the room, the breakfast and the staff was very friendly. The staff always had a cheerful Hello and a smile. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I slept in despite being in a strange place. That was definitely a bonus because I had driven 8 hours to get this destination.

TurkeyThe breakfast was not good at all. It was typical American style which makes us difficult to find something eat. And the plastic forks and knives and paper plates are terrible. Please start using normal utensil, as the COVID is almost finished and it is mandatory to use masks everywhere in Wisconsin.
