How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

parking is tough but doable with a small car
beautiful comfortable great bed good breakfast friendly hosts A very home like atmosphere warm and welcoming inn to spend time relaxing while on vacation. I highly recommend this inn and will return in the future.

I love how quaint this B&B is. We've stayed twice and love it more each time. Location is perfect to everything, and the host is amazing. Breakfast is thoughtfully planned and beautifully delivered and delicious every time. Lovely place, a must stay in St. Augustine.

The property is located in the center of St. Augustine which makes it very convenient to tour the city. The owner was gracious and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The complementary coffee and wine service was an added bonus.

What a great surprise hidden on Charlotte St.! So lucky to have booked with them and stayed on the last night of the Festival of Lights. They did everything possible to make our stay complete.

Our room was a bit small, with no closet, so finding a place to hang things up was a challenge, but the bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and quiet.
Our host and his staff were very cordial and attentive. Our breakfasts were delicious, nicely presented, and served in cozy but elegant dining room. The complimentary decanter of wine and snacks in the afternoon was a very nice touch. Overall, the hospitality was superb, and the location ideal for our visit. I look forward to returning for another visit.

bungalow 7: lightbulb out, window shade wouldn’t lift, surfaces need to be clear of decorations and accessories, nightlight would be helpful.
We were called to advise that the room was ready early! This was welcoming and efficient. But, the caller was confused and there was a “blocked off” sign to get to parking. We had to circle the tiny streets for 20 minutes to return, have him talk us through the blockade, and take us through the detour. The ambience in the main house was charming and abundant, beautifully appointed.

It is decorated and furnished well. Bed was very comfortable. Shower is huge. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly. Great location and had parking only 1 block away. Will definitely stay again.

It would have been complete to have coffee service included as part of the breakfast. Instead, guests had to leave the dining room to get their own coffee or refills.

Loud music from nearby bar late at night and room was a bit small and a little dated.
Breakfast was tasty, but would like to have healthier options. We were out and about most of the time and did not spend much time at the Inn or our room. We did not go to bed early, but when we did the music from the nearby bar was loud. The room was nice, but a bit dated and cramped.

Breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other Bed and Breakfasts I have stayed in but I know they were looking for a cook.
The inn was very clean and comfortable. Barbara was so welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. It was nice and cool considering how hot it was outside in Florida. The old house was updated well. This location was ideal for walking around St. Augustine.

The room was very nice and cleaned. The staff Christin is very nice. The food was excellent. It is located in the heart of the historic district. I would highly recommend this place.
