Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesLight switches when you come in the dark don't turn anything on. I feel it would make sense to have a lamp plugged into one of the outlets that I assume the switches operate? Other than that a clock and coffee/cream sugar is the only other suggestion. It was beautiful though and location was amazing so overall no REAL complaints..just suggestions? Had an amazing breakfast nearby at a small Cafe so coffee was soon found! Thank you for having us!

Canada(1) I ordered this room for 3 adult people, but there were only one bed and one sofa. The big problem was the bed had quilt but sofa had no quilt. So our 3 people, only 2 people had quilt and the other people had no quilt. (2) The other question is I can't contract Hotel staff. The host sent me a message that owner living in first floor but I knocked 1st floor rooms but couldn't find him. (3) The third question is the room's WIFI signal was too week to use, so we can't use WIFI in our 306 room, we must went to 1st and 2nd floor to use WIFI. The hotel owner insisted that there was no problem with the network but can't explain why we can use WIFI in 1st and 2nd floor corridor but can't use WIFI in our 3 floor 306 room.
Location is near beach, the landscape is beautiful. It has a place to park.

United StatesThree flights of stairs, one roll of TP, coffee grounds left in coffee maker, the bed needs a headboard and needs not be up against the slider. Being 74 years old and using a cane made it difficult for me. Would like to have had the rooms on the front of the building instead of a side view. No one in them, .
Close to beach, if you are young this would be a great place to stay.

Owner was extremely accommodating. Good side view of ocean from balcony. Adequate supplies in kitchenette. Unit was clean but had an odd smell. Maybe glue from recent floor or wall installations.

I loved how well cared for the property was, the private parking was a bonus as well! When I was reaching out to the owner about a potential earlier arrival they were responsive and helpful! I would love to stay again!
