The stay was perfect. The entire property was like a work of art. Short walk to some of the best surf breaks in the world and the bus system makes a car unnecessary if you are planning on staying on the north shore. This is a nice place and not for crazy parties. The property manager, Bernie, is very helpful and cares deeply about keeping things clean and comfortable for everyone. Just clean up after yourself and don't create a big mess. (leaving dishes out or tracking sand past the sidewalk)

Everything! The property was beautiful and lush, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy, Bernie was an absolute legend and made sure we were okay and had everything we needed ! Will definitely stay here again if in Hawaii.

Great little place a few steps away from Sunset Beach. I had the king room, it was super comfortable and beautifully decorated (like all the house). The shared bathroom was kept clean and the kitchen had everything you could need. Lovely outdoor dining area and gardens where you can hang out and chat with other travellers, but very relaxing and not at all a "party" place. The host Bernie was more than happy to help with getting around the area, and happy to share his knowledge and love of Oahu. Definitely recommend!

I had a great stay at Kalani lodge, Bernie (the host) is a character ! He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations for things to do. The property itself is walking distance to the beach and a short drive to nearby restaurants. I found the property to be very relaxing and I felt comfortable during my stay.

Check in is a joke. Very hard to find the place with no signage and the front doorbell doesn’t work. Expected to call Bernie which is a nightmare if you don’t have internet. I spent 2-3 hours just trying to get a hold of someone to get access.

Probably the only trouble was the amount of restroom accessibility for the number of people residing there, but I understand there's not much to be done, and even so the outside shower and bathroom were beautifully installed, so it's hard to complain.

Extremely hospitable, knowledgeable, and hard-working host and staff. More amenities than I would've ever expected, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and any concerns addressed straight away. The property is very well-kept and undergoing maintenance and upgrades whenever needed.

It was an amazing and comfy stay, a perfect sanctuary. Bernie was helpful and thoughtful all the time. The garden was wonderful and the people there were all very nice. Very big parking place and wonderful beach nearby.

I loved my stay here. It was fantastic value and in an amazing location. I stayed in a dorm room but felt like I was staying at a friend’s house. Lovely people, super clean, great vibes. Bernie is super helpful and made the stay really easy.

The only thing I personally didn't like was the hardness of the bed. Just my personal preference.

ABSOLUTELY great location! Couldn't get any better, unless you were ON the beach. The price for the location was perfect. This is a private residence with ROOMS for rent in a home. Many of the rooms have shared bathrooms. There is a shared living space inside and out, shared kitchen and outdoor showers. Plenty of parking and safe behind a gate. The owner is incredibly helpful if you need any tips or have any questions. Walking distance to food, coffee and the best surf watching beach on the North Shore.

There was not much I didn't like. It served my purpose perfectly. Maybe the location is a bit difficult to see like the busdriver thought it was way further down the highway and dropped me and I had a 2 hour walk but that's not Kalanis fault.

I liked the beautiful,clean,natural atmosphere away from the crazy hustle and bustle from the city.Bernie is amazing and went over and beyond to look after everyone staying there.

Kalani lodge is the perfect place to stay on the north shore. Great environment and value for money. Bernie was an incredible host with endless local knowledge and is happy to assist with anything you may need. Would definitely stay here again

I can’t think of anything. There’s no view from the room, but we did not expect one, so that’s not really a negative.

The location is unbeatable. A SHORT walk to Sunset Beach. The room was gorgeous, the bed SO comfortable. Bernie and Maria could not have been more accommodating. We are so sorry to leave. If you’re visiting the North Shore (and why wouldn’t you?) I can absolutely guarantee you won’t find a better place to stay.

We loved the ability to cook… but lots of rules posted everywhere. It made us a little neurotic, but maybe that’s why it is so clean? I’m sure some people are messy!

The property was so clean, and gardens around it so beautiful, you could hang around all day… but the beach will call you! I stayed with my son, and we had the loft. There isn’t privacy if you are a couple, but was perfect for us!!

Our king bedroom was a little small - with the amount of furniture in the room was a little difficult for 2 people to move around with large suitcases. Worked better when we moved the table at the end of the bed into the wardrobe. When we were looking for accommodation, we didn't realise that the property was shared lodging until we arrived (our fault). However, we adjusted quickly, and weren't disturbed by other guests.

The property had lovely grounds and fantastic outdoor entertaining area, as well as outdoor showers to use on returning from the beach. Great location on the North Shore. Property had a great vibe and was well decorated, and had all the facilities we could possibly want. We appreciated Bernie's advice on things to do and see in the area.

Room was a tad small but hey, it’s what it advertised to be and we didn’t mind as it was a short stay.

We loved that it was very clean, which is important to us. Slept very well as the location is very quiet, away from madding crowds. There were constant gentle sea breezes blowing when we were there, which was lovely. Nice big kitchen and a lovely tropical garden. Good welcoming ambience. We enjoyed our short stay here and would return. Quite close to Foodland grocery store, and opposite Foodland nearby is a nice beach. There is a lovely little corner of the beach which is safer for kids and poor swimmers. Fresh water springs can be found underwater here, which explains why the ocean feels less salty there. One does not feel “salty” when out of the water.
