The accommodation is quite dated and needs a refresh and deep clean, the air-con is really old and loud, the kitchen is okay but the whole look is dated in comparison to other properties in this area. The beds are quite uncomfortable and the ironing board doesn’t actually work, it won’t stand, so you have to use it on the floor/table.

The location is perfect, just off the beach, down the road from some shops and not too far from the airport. The pool area is huge, lots of seating and shade and the kids pool was nice and warm too.

Vacasa did not send the email with the entry code until 11PM the night I checked in. I spent almost 15 minutes on the phone trying to get the code after being disconnected the first time. This was unprofessional and no one expressed any apology for the oversight.

Each unit in the complex is privately owned and rented out. Unfortunately the unit we stayed in was outdated, old, and wasn't well kept. Carpets are pretty stained / dirty, wash rooms aren't in the best condition, it didn't feel like the value we paid for.

Great location! Walkable to beaches and many food places. The complex, Kamaole Sands was great! The shared pool - great size with tanning chairs and available cabanas! 2 hot hubs, BBQ available for booking. The complex and shared amenities were great and well kept. 24 hr front desk is great. Ah yes, the tennis court was beautiful!

The price. It was quite expensive and didn’t realise there were extra fees and taxes involved. The bathroom entry was narrow. The skirting around the bed was dirty.

The beach towels were pretty old looking and the bath towels looked dirty. I had to wash them before I used them. Also the toilet had hair trimmings and toilet paper in it and another toilet had plaster on the rim.

I liked the amenities at the location and the closeness to the beach.

shower water came out brown no hot water or water at all out of hot water faucet out of bathroom sink (turns out it was broken underneath) would have had to wait 5 hours for maintenance man to fix (this was our vacation and son's wedding/didn't want to waste 5 hours waiting in condo for the fix) carpet stains really bad in the bedroom (we used a towel to cover so I wouldn't have to look at the stains) and also in the living room stain spots on the pillows of the couch overall, the whole condo needs an update (furniture and flooring)

Some things that we weren’t to thrilled about were even mentioned in other reviews and were addressed as resolved. They clearly weren’t fixed and were lied to about it. For starters, the room has carpet which could need a deep cleaning or replacement. Not sure why carpet would even be in a beach type rental. Lights in the display case above the ac didn’t work either. The fan in the bedroom is all screwed up with the electrical wiring to it and there is no switch. If you pull the chains to turn off the light you will be disappointed. You can not have the light and the fan on at the same time. There were previous complaints about what appears to be mold in the main bathroom and that is very worrisome when I have a toddler and a pregnant wife. Not acceptable! Management said it was taken care of. It wasn’t. Hot water to main bathroom faucet was off and I wasn’t going to mess with it and make a bigger problem. The shower door in the spare bathroom was supposedly fixed. It wasn’t. The glass door is separating from the frame. The beach equipment looks like some can be replaced or even have a little more options in the closet. Who ever is in charge of linens and pillows needs to wake up. A spare pillow along with the sleeper sofa look like it was found from a homeless camp all stained from who know how many peoples drool. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. Throw out the pillow and get a new mattress!! Place could use a facelift inside but I feel ownership doesn’t worry about it and just wants to make money.

The location of the building was perfect. Couldn’t be any easier getting to the unit on the 3rd floor and parking is very convenient next to the elevators. You get a nice ocean view from the lanai and also a nice view of the beautifully landscaped property. Just a short walk to a beautiful and relaxing beach. Front desk was very polite and made check in a breeze. The pool was nice but can get crowded at night but still refreshing for a night dip.

The condo wasn’t clean. Towels, Sheets, carpet, walls were all stained, there was black mold in the bathroom, shower door is broken, closet door is broken, smoke detector removed from hallway, beds uncomfortable. Vacasa also allowed a plumber to access our unit when I said it was not ok that day, having a random man enter when my teenager was asleep on the couch.

Kamaole Sands overall is beautiful. The grounds, the pool, staff on site are all wonderful. The specific unit 1-304 and Vacasa were not.

My only complaint is really not a complaint at all but the lighting was too bright in the bathrooms but I just unscrewed most of them while we were staying there. Also, there were so many warnings about all the damage the beach does to the floor and the washer/dryer, etc., that I was afraid to ever go to the beach. :(

Air conditioning is only in the living room, as long as it doesn't get too hot it's ok, but if it's hot, it's not enough to sleep comfortably.

Great location, the place has everything you need to stay for an extended period of time. The complex has tennis courts and swimming pool area.

This unit is extremely neglected and in need of renovations. Many phone calls were made about the multiple and reoccurring issues listed below. No telephone inside this unit! Cracked kitchen floor tiles in the kitchen, dusty or white powder residue on blinds in kitchen, loud and noisy washer/dryer unit, screen door damaged so bugs can enter the unit if sliding glass door left open. The AC system that was an old fashioned turn-style timer constantly keep breaking. Toilets keep running all night long, pull out couch had sand in the bed upon opening.Bathroom/shower handle would not turn off properly. Water damage on the walls of a bedroom which is severely neglected. Dresser draw fell onto my hand and cut my knuckle to which the first aid kit didn't have alcohol or ointment to clease my wound! This unit should be red tagged for multiple repairs and safety issues!

I didn't like that my booking of Kamaole Sands was cancelled by the property via Vacasa. Never again.

The mattress in the master bedroom was squishy soft which neither my husband or I liked. We are seniors so appreciate a firmer mattress and woke up with backaches. We also had problems with TV. While we did not go to Hawaii to watch TV, there was one day that it poured rain and my husband wanted to watch news or movie. There were no instructions whatsoever and while the Vacasa team told us how to work the main living room TV in a text message, we were unable to get the bedroom TV to work. Some written instructions would be nice. The front desk women when we checked in at night were nice, however, the front desk man was surly and unhelpful. They also do not allow one to leave baggage in the visitor area (there's more than enough room).

The location was right across from the beach with easy access. There was also a swimming pool which we did not use. (We were there for a wedding and there were lots of dinners so we couldn't spend a lot of time at beach or pool. Condo also close to restaurants, shopping, tourist activities.
