Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

CanadaLight switch by the bed too high, could not reach it even sitting up in bed - not even my partner who is 6'2". No unified lighting switch to turn everything off. Housekeeping kept taking the mugs we requested especially for tea and we had to keep requesting more every evening. They also took the extra towels we requested without replacing them. Housekeeping wasn't very quick, more than once we were out all day and the room was not cleaned when we returned, had to request it to be cleaned right away but still waited 1.5 hours in the lobby waiting (we checked the room every 30 mins or so to see if it was ready yet). Servers in JaneQ are a bit slow, we had breakfast there twice and it was virtually empty, yet it took forever to order. Thermostat maxes out at 23C (or 23.5C) even though it was very cold the first day we arrived and it was raining a lot, so if you're like me and you like a warm room on a cold day, you're out of luck. No door on the shower so the floor always got wet cause it was open.
Room was very quiet with no outside noise really heard. Beds were comfortable. Liked the modern thermostat. Free wine and snack at happy hour, though we only managed to attend twice. Welcome bubbly upon arrival, though wish they had offered something non-alcoholic for my partner who does not drink, as I'm sure there are many who would have appreciated a welcome beverage but do not drink alcohol. Very close to a subway station, Trader Joe's for snacks and a CVS if needed.

Location, walkable distance to walk of fame, Chinese theatre, some variety of eateries nearby. It is also nicely situated at a corner somewhat away from the noise, you get some good peace and quiet around the hotel at night. Their bar is not to miss. With good selection of drinks and a nice pool table if you’re into pool. Atmosphere definitely earn the stars. If you’re into selling sunset, I realised the bar was where they shot an episode of it.

Very spacious room, cleaning is well done. The small bar / restaurant Jane Q is nice for breakfast (special mention for Chris - very nice!!). Location is convenient if you plan to visit Hollywood. Pool was ok but not the cleanest area (it was January so not the high season but still).

AustraliaAnnoying to always have to ask for 4 towels when we have booked 4 people in a room; nowhere to shower on your last day it you have a late flight post check out; only one on site or close venue for breakfast (food good, service very patchy) and location OK but not great, would probably pay more next time and stay more central.
The rooms are a good size, quiet and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is new and very 'in', I felt like I was not cool enough to be staying there.

New ZealandThe variety of food available was limited and portions were small, as well as expensive; though some of the cost is related to poor US/NZ dollar (it's almost double in price! We also found all room service was served in paper boxes with plastic cutlery, which felt wasteful given we were eating in the room (you could sue crockery and normal cutlery). The local area is close to many attractions but also somewhat salubrious esp at night so may not suit females travelling alone. the valet parking is very pricey if you plan to stay and park for more than a weekend 24 hours which is what we did.
The hotel is very stylish, and in a central location within walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood Hills. There is free parking on the streets in the evening and at weekends. It is just off one of the freeways. We stayed in a two double bedded room which was a good size with big beds and a nice bathroom. There is a lovely terrace outdoor pool and this would also be a lovely place to have a coffee, cocktail etc, if it were a little warmer. There is also a small but well equipped gym. We were not there long enough to take advantage of the free bikes!
